Tux has been going through a strong fear period where everything is scary. We are building his confidence through training and he is improving by the day. He gets an A+ for walking calmly through a busy store with strangers, other dogs, even peeping chicks.

Tux is extremely uncomfortable with most new situations, but especially when they involve children. What's the solution? Getting him to understand when children are around, he must follow the rules. It seems mean, but it is the only way to let him know that he is not in danger and that we will always keep him safe.

Lola is at her first training session in a public park, but she became car sick on the way. The best way to help your puppy get used to car rides is to start with extremely short trips, and very gradually make the ride longer and longer. After a little fresh air and sunshine, she was feeling fine.

Ollie always looks like this at the end of his lesson. Physically, he didn't do that much. But learning takes brain energy and that wears him out as much as running around and playing. Dogs and puppies need both types of exercise! A+, Ollie.

These two beautiful pups definitely keep each other entertained. But having two puppies around the same age can trigger something called littermate syndrome. It's a fancy name for when dogs decide to listen to each other and not to their humans. To keep that from happening requires one-on-one time with each puppy, with each family member. Having them spend time apart keeps them from overbonding and being too dependent on each other. So welcome Tux and May, who will each get their own training, at their own paces.

This baby is just that...still like an infant at 8 weeks old. Yet, already little Ollie is learning several commands and showing off Place here. It's never too early to start working with a puppy. They very much enjoy working for their food and discovering the training is simply another word for playing games. This kind of engagement with a puppy leads to a healthy and rewarding relationship. A+, Ollie!

Sunny's biggest issue is that he felt responsible FOR his people, instead of responsible TO his people. He comes by it naturally, with a genetic makeup of two livestock guardian breeds. His misplaced guarding comes from him seeing one of the owners as part of his flock and not as a leader. He has been trying to keep even family members away from that person. Add to that his size, and there was no way for the smallest handler to control him. Today is happy to follow her lead!
