🚨 URGENT: Capacity Emergency 🚨
Our dog kennels are completely FULL, and some single kennels are now housing two or three dogs each! We've had to set up temporary kennels to house the overflow. We urgently need to make space for incoming animals.
Over 500 pets have come into our care in the last two weeks, and every day, our team must push beyond our building's capacity to make the space needed for them. We only expect the number of pets coming to us to increase as the summer months bring a larger number of lost pets to our shelter.
Here are five ways you can help with this extreme overcrowding:

This was Hazel‘s 4th Reiki energy and trapped emotion release session with me.
In beginning sessions, she would pace and pant and whine but today she sat comfortably in my lap or directly in front of me ready to receive healing! It’s amazing what happens when we provide our pets with the tools needed to start healing at a holistic level.

Just 2 sessions ago I had to tell Harper’s mom that I may have to stop grooming him because of how anxious he would get. Flipping my table, jumping out of the tub multiple times and resisting most of the groom. Mr. Cooper is getting cooled down just in time for the heat wave……& NO, he’s not getting a hair cut! WHAT?! No, haircut?! A summer haircut may help you feel more comfortable during hot, humid summer weather, but it won’t have the same effect on your pet. In fact, cutting or shaving your pet’s fur can actually compromise your furry friend’s ability to remain cool. Although wearing a fur coat in the summer might increase your risk of heat stroke, the same isn’t true for your pets. Their coats actually provide a built-in heating and cooling system. During the winter, your dog or cat’s fur offers warmth when it lays flat against the body. When temperatures soar, the individual hairs in your pet’s coat stand upright, maximizing air flow. The shorter the coat, the more risk for skin burn, inability to cool down and ultimately heat stroke. Providing your pet with a bath, undercoat blowout and brushout, will allow air to flow through the coat, naturally cooling them down! Ways to keep your pet cool; Provide plenty of shade Keep them hydrated Limit exercise to early in the morning or late in the evening NEVER leave your pet in the car! If a pet gets overheated, DO NOT drastically reduce their temperature, this can cause shock. Immediately pour cool (not cold to avoid shock) water over the dog. Wet towels placed over the dog can worsen the condition, trapping heat. Allow the dog to drink small amounts of cool water. Stay safe this weekend!
