Re-purpose the earths mineral bounty, create a lasting piece of jewelry or other art form from stones millions of years old. I am a retired high school art teacher, taught many classes at SKHS during my 32 years of teaching there. I'm sure I have had some of you in my ceramics, jewelry, crafts, history, drawing and painting classes. I have a strong desire to see my dad's rocks find a new rebirth,
in so many possible forms. Initial classes will focus on how to transform a pre-cut slab of your choice, into a polished cabochon suitable for a ring, pendant, belt buckle, bola tie, your vision. Learn how to design, cut, grind, shape, and polish a raw piece into something uniquely yours. Classes are four hours, limited to no more than 3 participants, so you will have your own machine and plenty of individual attention. A minimum of two pieces should be possible within that time frame, additional time available on a shop time hourly schedule. Tons of jewelry mineral settings available to satisfy your whims, just go online and search cabochon findings. I have a limited selection of findings and settings, but enough to spur your imagination. I have tons of beads and things if you want to construct a finished necklace. I can also cut your favorite rock or beach find, plus some rock piles to sort through if you need an aquarium/reptile tank special rock, or just a cool piece to display. My shop is breezy and inviting, as is my attitude. I have goats you can feed, country atmosphere, free wifi , a microwave, fridge, and money back if you are not satisfied....start up prices in effect now, $65.00 for four hours. Bring a friend, buy a friend a voucher as a gift. Feel free to reach out to me for more questions and or to schedule a workshop.
