πΈπ² Come ride π horses with me!
Let us introduce you to our Trainer Julie: I embarked on my equestrian journey at the age of six in the 1990s, where I cultivated my passion for horsemanship and horse care at a local rescue facility. Throughout my teenage years, I honed my skills in competitive hunter events and gained invaluable experience by assisting with summer camps within the industry.
Following my high school graduation, I was privileged to join a prestigious traveling Lipizzaner tour, showcasing the art of high school dressage across the United States. This experience deepened my appreciation for classical riding techniques. Upon returning to Washington State, I dedicated myself to teaching horseback riding lessons, first at a local horse rescue and then advancing to a renowned hunter/jumper barn.
My career trajectory took me to Kentucky, where I spent several years excelling in American Saddlebred Saddleseat on the Boone County circuit, while simultaneously imparting my knowledge through teaching hunter/jumper lessons at two boarding facilities. In 2013, I returned to Washington State, rejoining my childhood barn as an instructor.
In 2015, I met my husband, and as our family grew, I chose to temporarily step back from professional teaching and training. However, my passion for the equestrian world reignited in 2020 when I began teaching and training horses on the breathtaking native reservation in North Kitsap. My skill set expanded as I took on roles including grooming for a dressage barn, teaching beginner lessons, and directing summer camps.
Most recently, I collaborated with a trainer specializing in gaited horses, further broadening my expertise. Now, as I look toward 2025, I am thrilled to focus on developing my own equestrian program. As an English-style horse trainer, I specialize in classical dressage, hunters, and saddleseat, riding my Turbo Friesian in a dressage style while we explore "working equitation" and "western dressage."
My extensive experience also includes western horsemanship; I enjoy trail riding my Tennessee Walking Horse and engaging in cattle work. I am wholeheartedly committed to furthering my education in the equestrian field and empowering the next generation of riders with the knowledge I have gained. My mission is to provide safe, individualized lessons that cater to the unique needs of each client and horse. Offering light jumping, trail riding, dressage lessons, and opportunities to participate in local games and shows, I am dedicated to fostering a nurturing and successful equestrian community.
