Emily is a loving and feisty little thing. She’s going to be the princess of the family.
Buster is very sweet and more laid back. He does like to get his sister going too. 😝

They are about 11-13 weeks old and considered possible greyhound mixes(based off mom). They will be great additions to your families!! 💕💕

Reba is doing so well with her foster siblings and living the best life out of the horse trailer. 🤗
- she’s a 1-2 year old greyhound/whippet mix.
- she’s an attention hog so would love someone who could give her all the loving she wants. ❤️
- she’s doing well on walks and on leash but does get excited when she sees squirrels or rabbits, so that is being worked on. 🐾
- she’s put some much needed weight on too with her new foster, she was 38 lbs so probably just about 40lbs.
- does great with other dogs and people/kids
- learning that being a dog isn’t half bad ☺️🙌

Her foster says that it’s easy to fall in love with her. 😍

It’s with the heaviest hearts that we share that Angel aka mama rescued from Palm city Fl has went to heaven today. She gave and gave and gave but in the end lymphoma took her from us. She was the most special of dogs. We thank Jessica and her family for showing her tremendous love that only can be dreamt of for most. Her time with you was short, and although that feels so unfair, we find peace knowing that she took her last breath knowing love. Please take a moment to appreciate this amazing life and this amazing family who gave her a 2nd chance at life and love. We will miss you Angel.

She’s been adopted for a couple of weeks but with vetting and being out of town it happened this weekend. 💕🐾

She is already so loved and gets to go on new adventures with her new family. Congrats again!! 🎉👏

From a local gardener:

This tick has been on display for us to show people for a while. After months in a sealed container without any additional feeding, she laid eggs. This demonstrates how long a tick can remain dormant and how many eggs one female can lay. Remember, ticks become active again in the fall, so continue with preventive measures.

If you encounter a small pile of jelly-like balls in your garden, act immediately! These are tick eggs and they're set to hatch soon.

Either set them on fire or destroy them by soaking in isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wear gloves if you handle the nest, as it contains hundreds of tick eggs that will hatch in a few weeks. I believe it's important to share this post because tick bites can be dangerous.

Stay safe and informed to protect yourself and your garden from these tiny but dangerous creatures!

$8 Saturday today!! 🙏❤️

The inflation in 2024 has been putting a financial strain on everyone but we as a non profit feel the heat more so when we lack consistent donations. ☝🏼

We see D2CR as part of our family and with it being our “baby” we hate to even think about it being more of just a business but unfortunately when there’s not much funding (or any at all) coming in it makes it difficult to keep things running smoothly. 🫣

We are asking for $8 today to help the many displaced dogs that will need our help. It’s not free or cheap to run a rescue of any sort as there are always expenses. Asking $8 doesn’t seem like a lot when you look at all that we do. 🙌
Some expenses that we have are vetting (deworming, vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, health checks, etc), food, toys, training supplies, cleaning supplies, etc, etc. 🐶
without the $8 donations from our supporters we hate to think what will happen. We are working tirelessly 24/7 trying to make sure that we do our best to help the unwanted, abandoned and abused animals no matter what conditions get thrown at us. We love and care for these dogs like our own until they find their own loving families.

With hurricane 🌀season quickly approaching we are trying to get as best prepared as we can. Our fence at the intake location has seen better days and we know if there’s a strong storm we will lose the fence. Donations would be helpful to go towards repairs. 🙏 We could also use doggy life jacket donations as well. In a time of need we would much rather have them and not have to worry about the possibility of our furry friends being in trouble.

Please all of our animal lovers and supporters please help us by donating $8 to help us help them. If you could even donate weekly that would greatly help us continue to fight the good fight. These little lives deserve so much more and with your support we could help them get all the love and care that they so deserve while waiting for their loved ones. 💕

UPDATE- RESCUED BY FURRY FRIENDS!!!
Another poor girl who was most likely used as a bait dog and thrown on the streets to die. This world needs to do better for the animals. We are their voice. 😔🙏💔

‼️‼️‼️another riviera beach animal abuse victim - little 35 lb girl needs immediate help ‼️‼️‼️ - Urgent Rescue Pickup Needed by Wednesday, July 3rd @ 6.00 p.m. Intake Info: This poor older girl was found laying by the fire station in Riviera Beach. It was reported that she was bleeding from the face and had a chain around her neck. The responding ACO said that she was unable to walk, had multiple injuries
and did not have a microchip. She’s on stray hold until Monday, 7/1. Medical: She has multiple issues (trauma, fractured left cheek bone, right jaw (healing) mild anemia, resolving bite wounds, bleeding from the left nostril)
Staff Notes: She’s quiet and alert, appears comfortable and is eating and drinking. Request to Rescues: This sweetheart needs urgent rescue due to her multiple medical issues and is in need of place to recover. She’ll need an excisional biopsy of the tumor on her leg and may need additional medical care for her facial wounds, jaw fracture, or staging of neoplasia. She’ll need to complete treatment for
hookworms and recheck for intestinal parasites.

What we know about Reba:
- she’s about 1-2 years old and possibly a greyhound/whippet mix.
- she’s only 38 lbs so perfect size 🐾
- she gets along with other dogs and people/kids(cats are unknown)
- she’s sweet as can be and still learning how to be a dog 🐶
- does well with her crate training and house training

For PET OWNERS that take their dogs to lakes and creeks, please read this warning from Morgan & Patrick Fleming.

This morning we thought, it’s so hot! Let’s go to the lake! We took our sweet Arya to the lake and had the best day playing ball and swimming around! About 30 minutes later on the drive home, we noticed her making weird noises and she threw up and pooped in the car. We called our vet on the drive and they suggested we take her in. By this point our girl couldn’t even stand. They told us she was in critical condition so we took her to the ER. By the time we got there, she was brain dead. Today was absolutely awful. We lost our fun, loving, and crazy girl to what we can only assume was a lake toxin such as blue green algae. Arya, no dog will ever replace you in our hearts. We already miss you more than you could know. I hope you’re running around like a wild girl with all the other boarder collies in doggo heaven ♥️

They should also write:
It may cause cancer, cardiac problems, strokes, blood pressure abnormalities, thyroid, renal failure, hepatic failure, and more!
Glad to see this in a Vets office as they are taking note (finally)!

Sooo this question was just asked on a post of a shelter dog on euth list in miami..... I'm just here trying to help educate & eradicate this uphill & sometimes saddening/ unsuccessful battle of trying to save them all ❤❤❤. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST...
This was my reply/response to her question...
"Most or all rescues/ shelters are full (with a euthenasia rate of 17%/day if it's a kill shelter which most govt run ones are😞...) Unfortunately people are breeding their dogs or letting their dogs get pregnant or not being responsible for a dog they did adopt or buy and they're giving them up faster than we can pull them in & save them. We are all doing the best job we can... Things that help are spaying and neutering dogs... also spreading the word and educating about fostering a dog also helps because the more fosters we have the more we can save :). Fostering Is opening up yur home on a temporary basis (nev know how long til adoption but the better the sharing & marketing & exposure the faster a furrever home is found❤). Fastring involves taking care of the rescue by feeding it and nursing the dog back to health and training it so it's comfortable in a home environment and gets domesticated... All which help them get adopted :). Which means it's usually just your time and love and warm home that is required for fostering... The rescues/ shelters usually supply the food and pay for any vet bills that the dog need. Please copy this & share it

Reba is the mama dog who is still a young girl herself at only 1-2 years old and only 38lbs. Shes a sweetheart but due to the lack of socialization she will take some time to learn your lifestyle. She does well with other dogs but will need time to come out of her shell on her own. ❤️❤️

The babies are one male- Buster and one female- Emily. They are both doing much better and getting used to all the new attention and love. They are about 10-12 weeks old according to the vet. 🙏🙏

A blast from the past everyone… 💥

For those of you who don’t remember this guy was in terrible condition when we first got word of him. He was stuck living in a cage in an apartment with his nails all over grown, his skin having multiple different types of infections going on and just living in deplorable conditions. 😔
His fur still hasn’t fully grown back but he’s in such a better place. He knows what it’s like to be a dog again and he’s happy. Our goal of making sure he felt love and affection and was truly happy has been achieved. 🥲🤗🐶❤️
