J&R Fish Farm is a dream turning into reality!
Everything begins back in the 80's when Juan (the owner) was a kid. He loved playing outside with his friends and fishing was their best spare time together. When he was not playing outside, Juan was reading his father's impressive collection of books about fish. Everything was so interesting to him that he was reading one book after the other. Realizing that her son was so intrigued by the subject, when he was 12 years old his mother gave him his first tank (a 40 liters one).
That's when his passion started to grow!
With the books and the tank to practice his learnings, Juan was getting more and more involved with the fish world, specially the breeding part - that was his favorite part! After saving money for a few months, he bought another tank - a big one this time (150 liters) - and began to breed Betta fish on his own! Since then, Juan has been studying, lecturing and breeding freshwater fish.
He's well known in his home country of Uruguay and now, in the USA, with the help of his "partner in crime", he's getting his project off the drawing board and starting to build the high quality fish farm that he's been dreaming about for years!
