The Shelter Connection is a nonprofit 501(c)3 comprised entirely of volunteers whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the dogs residing at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter in Port Washington, NY.

We had a great time at Barkfest in Eisenhower Park today with our adoptable show stopper- Willie. 🎃 👻 He charmed everyone with his good manners and loving personality (and obviously his good looks). Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Hershey is the perfect lap dog! At only 23 pounds, she loves nothing more than to just be with you and maybe even go for a leisurely stroll. According to the previous owner, she is both housebroken and dog-friendly. Hershey is a "golden girl" who would make an excellent companion, especially to someone also enjoying their golden years!
