I wanted to post this to see if anyone might be able to temporarily foster 2 husky mix dogs. They are both 3 year old males, utd on vaccines, neutered, and very friendly. Their owner is currently unhoused and in respite care. He does have some resources and the organization that is doing the respite care can also contribute some, so their expenses can be paid.

They were in boarding until spring and then when the boarding facility became too busy, they were staying on a property with some drop-in care, which was not ideal, as they were indoor dogs, but born of a desperate situation. They now have nowhere to go.

They are very sweet dogs, but clearly are in need of some stability until the owner’s medical situation is resolved. When he is well, he has his own landscaping business, but is currently unable to work, which is why this situation has happened.

The dogs have lived with a cat and were in boarding at a facility where they were in a day camp situation with other dogs.

Please share and reach out to me if you have any ideas for temporary (possibly permanent) housing. Thank you!

I just wanted to get ahead of the hot weather this summer. We have air conditioning, new ceiling fans, the pool, lots of water to drink, and humans who can judge when dogs are too hot and corral them inside to cool down if need be (Not to mention, we don’t want to fry either!).

This week, they are forecasting some temps in the 90’s and high heat indices. If you feel your dog should not come in please let us know as soon as possible so we can evaluate the schedule. We don’t plan on closing any extra days at this time, but also do not want to end up with a lot of last minute cancellations that leave 1 dog complaining they have no one to play with (because they always make us feel guilty). As I said, we are definitely able to safely accommodate the dogs and we are all dog lovers here and put their well being first, but whenever the news starts talking about extreme weather, we do end up with questions as to whether or not we will be open or not, and we would close if no one is planning to come in. We had a week of extreme weather last year and all the dogs did well playing inside and splashing around in the pools. With this being a holiday week, please let us know ahead of time if you’ll be deciding to keep your dogs home. Thanks!

Sweet, spunky Switzy crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend. She was all heart, and ultimately her heart is what failed her. We were delighted to share in her little life, and even though she was in her twilight years, she still had a lot of ‘tude, especially showing her disgust, and surprising speed in escaping, when I was tasked with trimming her nails. She always brought a smile to our faces and we loved watching her burst of energy when she went out to explore all the smells that her beagle side loved. She wil be greatly missed!

New prices effective May 13th. We do our best to keep our prices as low as possible, but unfortunately our operating costs (especially utilities, which have almost doubled this year even with less usage), continue to increase. We typically only raise our prices every 5+ years by $3, and we tried to get by last year with only a $1 increase, but it hasn't been enough to cover the operating cost increases we've seen of late. This $2 increase will hopefully keep us in line with the increases we've made in the past and keep the lights on and the p**p bags stocked, as we love all of our canine clients and want to maintain a safe and fun place to play!
