Here are some cold weather pet safety tips to keep your furry friends safe and healthy during these winter months:

❄️Limit Outdoor Time: Minimize the time your pets spend outside during extreme cold. Consider bringing them indoors, especially small dogs, puppies, elderly pets, and those with short fur.

❄️Provide Proper Shelter: If your pet must stay outside, ensure they have access to a warm, dry shelter that is raised off the ground and insulated from the cold.

❄️Dress Your Pets: Use pet-friendly coats and sweaters for small or short-haired dogs. Booties can protect their paws from ice, salt, and cold surfaces.

❄️Watch for Frostbite: Check your pet's paws for ice buildup and look for signs of frostbite, especially on ears, tails, and paw pads. If they seem to be in pain or show unusual behavior, bring them inside.

❄️Routine Checks: After outdoor activities, check your pet for signs of cold stress or injury.

❄️Keep Them Active Indoors: On particularly cold days, engage your pets with indoor activities to keep them stimulated, such as playing fetch or hide-and-seek.

❄️Home Safety: Ensure that heaters, fireplaces, or any heating devices in your home are pet-safe to prevent burns or accidents.
