Meet Dax! He arrived in October to CCHS as a stray. If you love big tiger cats, consider Dax! He is also a cat who has extra toes, known as a Hemingway Polydactyl which makes him extra special. Dax can be timid, and he will sometimes hide his face to avoid being scared but once he realizes you just want to cuddle and give him attention, he starts to soften and open up. Kelly (pictured left) approached CCHS with a thoughtful idea to honor her parents' memory with a gift to the shelter. Years ago, she envisioned donating a memorial bench as a tribute to her parents and a practical addition for dog enrichment at CCHS. Her vison has come to life: a durable 4 ft. bench crafted from recycled plastic. The bench weighs 91 pounds and is built to endure the test of time and the challenging Wisconsin weather, and it's guaranteed for 50 years! Upon its completion, Kelly visited to view the final product. Overwhelmed with emotion upon seeing it along our dog trails, it was incredibly touching to witness her reaction and to be part of this heartfelt tribute. We are so grateful to Kelly for her remarkable contribution to CCHS in honor of her beloved parents. She is pictured with our Executive Director, Susan.

Charlie-American Bulldog mix-female-spayed-7 years. Meet Charlie! Charlie is 104 pounds of lovebug. She is a very easy-going, happy dog. She enjoys walks and head scratches. Charlie is housetrained and should adjust to a new schedule with ease. If you have cats, she lived with cats in her previous home. She does prefer to be the only dog in the home and at 104 pounds, she's all the companion you need! Charlie is not a good watchdog because she just continues to nap when people come over. She is good with car rides, children, and knows a few commands such as sit, stay, come, lay down, and no. Charlie entered into our care due to an eviction. CCHS would like to send a heartfelt thank you to our volunteer Kristie who helps put our mailings together. She dropped off the finished Holiday Drive mailing on Tuesday and she completed the mailing with the help of Maisie Lou and Frank. They were hard at work helping her fold and stuff the envelopes. ;) Thank you, Kristie! We greatly appreciate all the help!
