Don't forget, tomorrow is Valentine's Day! If you’re planning to surprise your loved one with a beautiful bouquet, be sure to choose pet-safe flowers. Some blooms can be toxic to pets, especially cats and dogs, so it's important to select wisely.

• Lilies (all varieties—highly toxic, especially to cats)
• Hyacinths
• Carnations
• Tulips
• Ranunculus
• Azaleas
• Hydrangeas

🌹 💐 Pet-Safe Flower Options:

Today we want to shine the spotlight on Sam another recent hire of ours! Sam comes to us with a background in veterinary medicine. Here's a little about Sam-

"My name is Samantha, but I frequently go by Sam. I am a 25-year-old Gemini, who sometimes believes in horoscopes and sometimes doesn't. I have two ferrets; they are both a year old and their gotcha date is coming up on April 1st. I love the outdoors and being in nature, and nature-based photography is a hobby of mine. I love music, movies, and reading, but have many other interests that change daily depending on my ADHD. I love all animals, and plan to be an exotic animal vet. I am engaged to the love of my life, Dylan, although we have absolutely no plans for a wedding yet, were just enjoying a long engagement. I grew up a military brat, so I have been all over the country, but intend to stay in Michigan for quite a while."

We’re excited to have Sam on board and can’t wait to see the positive impact she’ll bring. 🐾

If you’re committing to teach yourself a new activity in the new year, why not include your pet in that resolution. It's as easy as 1,2,3, Sit.

What tricks does your pet know? Let us know in the comments.

Today we would like to shine the spotlight on Kaitlynn and welcome her to the team! Here's a little bit about Kaitlynn-

"I have a 2-year-old son at home.
I have an almost 3-year-old Blue Heeler and an almost 7-year-old Chocolate Lab at home.
Been married 1 year this coming June.
I enjoy the farm life and anything outside and animal related.
I could talk about dogs all day long!
If I won the lottery I would own 1 of each breed: Great Pyrenees, Alabi, Central Asian Shepherd Dog, Kangal, Estrela Mountain Dog and Caucasian Shepherd Dog!
Currently obsessed with cows! Especially the Brahman breed!"

Kaitlynn's passion for building strong relationships with clients and her warm & approachable personality makes her a perfect fit for ensuring our clients feel supported and valued. 🐾

We want to shine a spotloight on Kwanesia and welcome her to the team! Kwanny is actually a transfer from another VCA in Virginia. Heres a little bit about Kwanny-

"Hi, Im Kwanesia, my name is long and difficult to say so most people call me Kwanny! I've been working with animals since 2017. My journey started at Allegan County Animal Shelter as a volunteer for a few years. From there I applied for a job in my home city at
John Ball Zoo. It was a lovely experience! I even became a teen coordinator to share my love for animals with early teens while educating them as well, I would highly recommend this position to anyone. After the zoo, I began working in veterinary medicine, and I am on year 5 in this field. I grew up bringing in anything I could find, literally, rabbits, birds, frogs, etc. I grew up in the city, but I love my space and nature walks! If I ever have free time, I am reading, listening to music, dancing, sewing, drawing, ordering cat clothes, cooking, finding new things to try/ events to go to, or doing outdoor activities. I am happily married to the love my life, she has been a big part in helping me be the best version of myself, and I am a very lucky woman. I am the oldest of 7 children, my youngest siblings are identical twins, because why not?! I also have two very sweet nieces, two hilarious nephews, and one adorable godson in Virginia. My two kitties are Leo(2yrs) and rose(1yr), but I am a hardcore dog lover.... Also, my zodiac sign is Ta**us and that is me in a nutshell. I would love to own dwarf pygmy goats, nubians, and some potbelly pigs after finding a house to call home 🙂"

We’re excited to see the amazing contributions she'll bring to our team and the pets we serve. 🐾💙
