💚💙MOTIVATION MONDAY 💚💙
I thought what better motivational story than Miles.
Meet Miles, my dog I adopted in October of 2018 and with out a doubt changed my life. He was and still is the reason I decided Dog Training is my career of choice. This is the history I got when I adopted him and his story from going to a shelter behavior mod case to service dog and my forever "heart" dog.
He was a 3 year old "All American Shelter Dog" other wise known as a mutt, his surrender papers said that his past owner believed him to be a Border Collie/ Saint Bernard Cross. He went through three different owners via Craigslist with his twin brother Duke(not including the shelter I adopted him from).
I went to the shelter with my Grandma and my younger sister to "window shop" for my perfect ESA-- I was looking for an Emotional Support Animal for PTSD and other personal medical conditions. I met Miles and never looked back.
I adopted him as a dog who had absolutely no manners, pulled on the leash -- once even into on coming traffic during a walk, no impulse control, howled when left by himself, resource guarding and separation anxiety.
There was times I wanted to give up, that I was so frustrated and past my boiling point with his behavior that I nearly took him back to the shelter. After long thought I decided that I wasn't going to break that promise to be Miles' forever home. And that's when I decided to dive deep into dog training and leaning everything I could from YouTube, and blogs. We worked together as a team and through trial and error we built an unbreakable bond. He learned basic obedience/ manners and I worked him through all of behavior issues he came to be with. We started Service Dog training around 6 months after his adoption and he took his job with stride. He was born to work and loved(s) every moment of it.
Now after two years since his adoption date he is my bestfriend and the reason behind TRUST Dog Training and I would never change a thing.
