Akaya Italian greyhounds welcomed four new babies into this world on Sunday, August 28th! We welcomed two boys and two girls! These puppies are not available, as I will be contacting people from the waitlist who have waited so patiently for a puppy from us! Meanwhile, please enjoy pictures of the babies!

Coming into fall, we love to celebrate by doing fun things and always try to take the dogs with us.. But when we can't, we celebrate by buying them things! One of the recent purchases I made was matching pajamas for Aion and Asher. I don't regret it! IGs are adorable in jammies!

Here are the most recent photos of Puzzle and Aion, and one of Aion and my son, Asher. They're best friends and he shows her in junior showmanship. Puzzle is now 12 years old and I hadn't had any professional photos done, so I wanted to make sure I got some done of her. I love how they turned out!

Hey, puppy families and potential puppy families! I have a question for you all! What are some things you'd appreciate being sent home with your puppy? I'd love to start putting together something that puppy families would find useful!

Besides the obvious being: puppy from fully health tested and champion lines, pedigree, first shots and deworming, AKC registration, 30 days of free Trupanion pet insurance, microchip, food, blanket or toys with mom and littermate scents..

Here's Khaos at 8 weeks and 1 day. Very happy with how this puppy has turned out and can't wait to see him grow!

Khaos is 8 weeks old today and is getting his vet visit and vaccination! He did pretty well being alone on the way here and being in the crate. We will definitely be practicing, but he will be a pro in no time!

Here is Khaos at 6 weeks old practicing his stacking. This was his first time on the table and he did great! He's a very promising little puppy.. Can't wait to see what he looks like at 8 weeks! I also included a photo of Aion, 6 weeks after having her babies. She's looking good and I know she can't wait to get back in the ring!

Khaos has been doing well and is officially 5 weeks old as of Friday! He's eating kibbles now and eating a bunch! He still nurses from Aion on a regular basis. Khaos has learned how to use the stairs (including RUNNING up them) and to steal socks! He's such an amazing puppy who's adventurous and sweet!

Khaos has also been getting used to the dremel, and tonight is the second time we've used it. He's so good about it! He makes puppy raising look easy!

Here are some of my favorite photos of Khaos from tonight. He's too cute! Always on the move and wanting to be around us. Still loves his mama and eating from her, but is doing well with solid food. He's too cute and we love him!

Now that Khaos is a pro at getting in and out of the crate bottom, he left the box to poo then went right back in to eat from mama. What a great puppy!

We have a peeper! Khaos's eyes are starting to open and he's moving around a lot more! My wobbly little puppy will have eyes completely open in no time! He loves to eat and cuddle with lambchop. This little boy is growing so quickly! Aion and Khaos are both thriving!

Aion and Khaos are doing amazing! Aion is totally healed and is an amazing mother! Khaos is a little chubster and weighed 20.18oz at 12 days! Next we will start seeing his eyes open 💜

Khaos is a spoiled little puppy. He's a little chubster since he gets every seat at the milk bar. He's stolen the hearts of those of us who have already met him. He also has clothes for when he grows into them! Even if he doesn't stay here at Akaya Italian Greyhounds, his wardrobe will go with him. He's a special little guy and I love him to death!

Khaos is a week old today! He was born at 6.58oz and is now 11.75oz, gaining at least 1oz per day now! He's a little chunk who's always eating, but also moved around a lot! He's a gorgeous boy and I can't wait to see how he matures! We love him so much!

Aion has healed really well and Khaos and Aion are both doing amazing! Thanks everyone for your love and support 💜

Sometimes being a breeder sucks. But it has such great rewards. Aion had a little boy today! It was a very, very long and slow process. He is gorgeous! Though we had issues with the second pup. I ended up taking Aion in for an emergency c-section, and Aion is healing well, but we lost the second puppy. He was also a boy. I am absolutely devastated, to say the least. This pregnancy has been so, so difficult! We've had a lot of hurdles to jump; a lot of complications. But we have gotten a beautiful red boy puppy out of it and I'm happy to say that he and Aion are doing well. Thank you all for your support and love to me and Aion. I will continue posting updates of our new little boy!

Aion has her xray today and we confirmed two puppies. They look like big puppies to me! There is no worry about her being able to birth them, as their skulls are not larger than her pelvis (we measured them). Can't wait to see to see these two cuddle bugs! Can't wait to see color and gender and just be able to help raise them up. I am so excited! 4 days until her due date. Temps are stable. I'll keep everyone updated!

A super Happy New Year from the girls here at Akaya Italian
Greyhounds! We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year celebration! Here's to 2021 enjoying our dogs and bringing new life into this world!

A quick introduction to my dogs.. First is Puzzle, who will be 12 later this month! She's spayed and is blue/white. She is the great aunt of Aion. Then Aion, who's 3 and pregnant with 2 puppies! She is fawn and white and. Is fully health tested with her Grand Championship and her temperament test title. Lastly, there's Raven, who's one year and hated the hat! She has barely been able to show due to COVID shutting down dog shows, but we're very hopeful for her show future!

Happy December 30th! Today Aion had another ultrasound to check on the two babies since she's been off the antibiotics for a week now. Her ultrasound showed that everything looks perfect and healthy, the puppies are good, and they're developing normally! Yay! Next appointment is her xray, and we will expect the two little pups on or about January 16th!

Aion's baby bump just keeps getting bigger! This isn't one of those "a watched pot never boils" situations.. It seems like she's getting bigger by the day! Today will be her last day of antibiotics, and we have another ultrasound in a week to make sure the two babies continue to thrive after she of off the antibiotics for a while. Her due date is January 16th, and I'm so eager to see and meet these little ones!
