Unfortunately this snow storm hit us way harder than expected and caused a lot of damaged. We will need to close the Vermont location until everything is replaced and safe for our friends… we will keep everybody posted and until then everybody is welcome to our Barbur location!

Happy Holidays to all of our wonderful clients! Dogville Vermont will be closed from December 23rd until January 2nd for the holidays. Dogville on Barbur will remain open for the week but will have reduced hours of 8-5 until January 2nd where business will resume as usual at both locations! Thank you all and we will see you next year! 🎉

Unfortunately there is no way our employees can get to Dogville safely today and for the very first time we won’t be able to open. That is for both locations! We will focus and take care of the dogs boarding with us but won’t be able to take daycare. We will call to reschedule grooming appointments as soon as possible!

We have no power at our Vermont location and the PGE estimated time to restore the power is just at 4pm! Because we want to keep everybody warm we will need to close and you are all welcome to the Barbur location!

Yes! From Monday on we will have same hours (7:30am-6:30) for both facilities and your dog is more than welcome to join us!

The Daycare Manager will be the face of Dogville at our Vermont location.
Lead our team at this location and oversee daily operations, budget and inventory, safety and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, train, and schedule Dog Handlers properly (watching the appropriate ratio human/dog for a safe, fun day for the dogs).
- Schedule overall coverage.
- Monitor attendance and tardiness of Dog Handlers.
- Assume responsibility to cover or find coverage of any uncovered shifts.
- Adjust scheduling needs as needed to budget labor percentage.
- Ensure all employees understand and follow policies and procedures.
- Monitor opening and closing shift checklists.
- Be a hands-on Manager! We are a small facility and all employees need to wear all hats.
- Always ensure a safe and clean environment (indoor and outdoor)
- Responsible for the front desk/reception area.
- Responsible for our small Retail Area – ensure maintenance of lobby area and inventory.
- Ensure laundry is been made.
- Monitor and ensure adequate supply levels.
- Lead Temperament Screenings ensuring the proper process for acceptable behavior in order to create a fun and safe experience for all our clients.
- Monitor vaccination records and follow up with clients to keep our system up to date.
- Ensure quality customer service – troubleshoot and problem-solve with a customer friendly attitude.

SKILLS:
- 2 years of management experience.
- Extremely organized with high attention to detail.
- Canine body language knowledge.
- Positive Reinforcement, Science-based training/handling techniques knowledge and interest.
- This job includes prolonged standing, walking, and various bending and stretching. Must be able to move quickly in the event of an emergency.
- Multi-tasker.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic about your work.
- Passionate about great customer service and high-quality pet care.
- Time Management and reliability.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- People skills! Be friendly with staff and clients, know how to communicate in a proper and friendly way.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Love ALL dogs. All shapes and sizes.
- Excellent customer service.
- Advocate for Positive Reinforcement, Science based training and handling techniques, no aversive techniques are tolerated at Dogville PDX.

Part time to start! The Vermont facility opens Mon-Fri from 7:30am-1:30pm and we will increase daycare hours soon.
