If you suspect your dog is CONTAGIOUS please keep them at home. we will also be sending dogs home if we suspect they are sick. This is applicable to boarding, daycare, and grooming.

Symptoms may include: coughing/hacking
eye/Nose Discharge
sneezing
lethargy
loss of appetite
fever
gagging/vomiting from excitement

Always consult with your vet regarding treatment and diagnosis.

Starting December 23rd, Dogville on Barbur will have reduced daycare hours (8am to 5pm) for the holidays, and Dogville Vermont will be closed. Both locations will return to normal availability on January 2nd. Grooming will also resume then.

Please call Dogville on Barbur at 503-442-3809 to reserve daycare ahead of time. Our focus will be on the holiday boarding dogs, but there is still plenty of room for daycare! Always happy to help get some zoomies out! Vermont clients welcome too!

We want to allow for as many participants as possible, so we did change this event to scheduled appointment times. More organization means less wait time and overlapping dogs, which will be safer and more sanitary for all of us, but especially important for those who are immunocompromised or had respiratory illness concerns.

As always, pet health and safety is the most important priority at Dogville! Our staff has actually been following information on this "mystery" respiratory illness since the summer, so along with our year-round sanitization protocols, we have thankfully averted any cases among our clients. We are glad to hear you are staying informed, and happy to answer any questions or discuss further, because awareness helps everyone prevent the spread. With continued communication between owners and staff, we are confident that working together will keep everyone safe!

Please contact us if your dog shows signs of lethargy alongside a wet cough, excessive sneezing, nasal discharge, or eye discharge. Likewise, we promise to let owners know immediately!

As we approach the end of November, we are going to be having a lot of dogs boarding with us over the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to make sure we can devote our attention to them and will be having limited hours for daycare at our Barbur location on the 23 and 24th from 8am-5pm. We ask that you please reserve your daycare reservations in advance and only book if you need it so we can devote our attention to the dogs boarding with us. Thank you!

Dogville community! We have been informed that there’s canine cough in the Portland area. While we currently do not have any cases at Dogville, it’s once again that time of year where we ask you to keep an eye out for symptoms of canine cough including coughing, hacking, goopy eyes (more than usual), and drippy nose. If your pet develops symptoms, please keep them home for at least 14 days and keep them away from other dogs to help prevent the spread. As always, reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns! Thank you. 🐾

Otto is here to let everybody know that on Monday July 3rd and Tuesday July 4th we will be open from 8-5.
We will have a lot of dogs boarding with us and we need to focus on their meals before we have our daycare dogs joining us!

Unfortunately there is no way our employees can get to Dogville safely today and for the very first time we won’t be able to open. That is for both locations! We will focus and take care of the dogs boarding with us but won’t be able to take daycare. We will call to reschedule grooming appointments as soon as possible!

Dogville PDX is searching for a highly productive team member that want to work hard and have fun while working hard!

Part time starting hourly rate is $15 for a minimum of first 90 days.

Our staff work well together as a team and help each other in all that we do.

The safety, happiness and health of all the dogs in our care is our priority!

Do NOT apply if:
- You only want to play with dogs all day. That is not what we do!
- If you do not have high work ethic.
- If you are unable to get to work on time.
- If you are not willing to work hard.

If you are looking for spending time with dogs, while working hard with a good attitude as a team member you will be very welcome at Dogville!

This position works directly with the dogs! The Dog Handler is making sure the dogs are playing and interacting with each other nicely. We give dogs affection and lots of love, in addition there will be a lot of cleaning up after the dogs and cleaning the facility as well as providing supervision of the play group making sure they are playing and socializing properly.

Additional responsibilities:
- Observing dog play to ensure the dogs play well together (learn about dog body language is very important).
- Ensure dogs are playing in proper play groups in a happy environment full of enrichment activities for them.
- Monitor the dogs to identify when they are tired and need rest time.
- Clean, clean and clean.

The right candidate characteristics:
- Friendly, respectful and a team player.
- Excellent work ethics and make the dogs your priority.
- Must be able to take directions and constructive criticism.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and actively interact with the dogs.
- Accomplish tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Must follow Dogville's procedures and policies.
- Dogville is an indoor and outdoor facility. Candidates must be willing to work outside and inside throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs.
- Must NOT be allergic to dogs.
- Must be comfortable around dogs all shapes and sizes.
- Must be able to take verbal instructions and perform it completely.
- Being able to speedy clean up f***s and urine is required and expected.

Previous experience is not necessary!

Work shifts:
We have a few shifts available for this position. More than 1 candidate may be hired to fit current availability.
Weekdays shifts: 7:20am-1:20pm or 10am-4pm or 1pm-7pm
Weekends shifts (Saturday and Sunday): 7:50am-1:50pm or 1pm-6pm

HOLIDAY HOURS!
Dogville on Barbur and Dogville Vermont will have regular hours until Friday Dec 23rd.
From Dec 24th until Jan 1st Dogville Vermont will be close and at Dogville on Barbur we will have reduced staff focusing on the dogs spending the holidays with us. If you really need a spot for daycare for your dog on that week talk to us, we have some availability.
We just want to make sure we can give all the dogs boarding with us all the attention they deserve for a special holiday!
