Pongo, Socks, & Lenny were also adopted in November!
These three sweethearts have so much love to give in their own unique ways - Pongo would squeak at you with his funny, raspy voice to let you know he wanted your lap, Socks would warily come out of his covered bed to get pets, and Lenny would launch himself across the room in a flying leap or scale your legs to reach your shoulder.
We are so happy these three have loving, permanent homes with family members to give all their love to! 💓

A Purrington’s staff member adopted sweet Chevy! (We love when this happens!) And Mellon now has a sibling some of you may remember - Honey Bun! We’re really hoping for some photos of them together once they’ve had more time to get acquainted. 🤞

Boscoe’s family has reported “He likes to rub his face up against ours and lick it even! My neighbor who has a cat said we won the cat jackpot lottery! We already love him so much!”

You may have noticed we’ve been taking a little break from social media and haven’t yet announced our November adoptions. It was a whirlwind of a month, and these three sweethearts ended up coming down with kitty colds and needed some extra TLC from our partner shelter’s medical team,

Patty Cakes, Mister Delilah, & Night Meow had already met their humans in the cat lounge. These lovely adopters patiently waited for them to recover and are now enjoying time with their healthy, happy new family members!
We’re so grateful to the medical team and volunteers for helping these three get ready for their new families! 💓

It has already been a few weeks since we closed our doors, but that time has not made the fact that we decided to step away any easier. We put our all into Purrington's, and with your help, we were able to create something special.

Thank you to everyone who adopted from us and walked away with a new companion or two. The mission of our business was to help cats find homes, and thanks to you, over 300 cats call themselves Purrington's 2.0 alumni. Thank you to everyone who made us a part of your weekly or monthly routine. We loved nothing more than seeing familiar faces and having conversations. Thank you to everyone who trusted us and were vulnerable enough to share photos and stories of both joy and heartache.

Service is a privilege, and it was an honor to welcome you all into our space and try to provide you with an enjoyable experience. We were fortunate to meet so many wonderful people and work alongside some amazing staff members. Those daily interactions and connections are what we miss the most.

We don't know what the future holds for Purrington's, but what we do know is that we are proud of what you all helped us accomplish. We will be sure to let you all know of any developments. In the meantime, please know that our decision to step away was very hard and personal, and despite the whispers, had nothing to do with the city, our neighborhood, or our level of business.

We look forward to sharing the last of our adoptions with you in the coming days. We are happy to report that all of the cats went to new homes and are spending the holidays with their new families. We wish you all a joyous holiday season and thank you for your visits and kind words. They mean more than you know.

We are excited to announce that we are now serving cider from our friends .co at Purrington's. Located in Cascade Locks, Son of Man makes Basque-style ciders that are tart, funky, & delicious. We are serving the Basajuan cider that is actually made in the Basque country, just outside of San Sebastian, Spain.

Who better to announce our new Basque cider than Sebastian, who, like the cider, is funky & awesome. Come by during our last few weeks and grab a can to enjoy with the cats, in the cafe, or at home.

Last couple of August adoptions are one of a kind characters - Cheez-it & Moki!
Cheez-it either likes to launch himself through the air to land acrobatically on your shoulder or back or simply climb you like a tree. He loves to be loved, and he’ll get your attention any way possible.
Moki might look a little grumpy, but don’t judge by appearance, she’s as sweet as they come!
We’re so happy for these two and their new families!

🎉Basil & Tank are adopted! When Basil arrived, he was hand-shy and timid around humans, but he quickly learned that he could get them to give him belly rubs, and the rest was easy! Tank was confident and outgoing from the very start and quickly won everyone over with his charming ways and love of playing with bubbles.

Sweet Shu is still looking for her forever home. This lovely kitty seeks out affection on her own terms and gently lets humans know her boundaries. Her playful side starts to come out when she gets hold of catnip, but mostly she’s a mellow gal with lots of love to give. Once she knows and trusts someone, she will tell you loud and clear that she wants your attention! 😻

To our dear cat community and friends of Purrington's - we have decided, after much thought and careful consideration, to step away as co-owners and chief cat wranglers at Purrington's in November of this year. We have put our whole hearts and efforts into this small business and are very proud of its many great successes, including helping to build this community and finding permanent, loving homes for hundreds of wonderful cats. We have overcome many challenges in the last few years, and are fortunate to be busier than we've ever been, but it's time for us to rest and recalibrate. We aren't sure what this part of the journey looks like yet, so we ask that if visiting the lounge, you refrain from questioning our staff members about these new developments. 🎉Lovely London has been adopted!
Her adopter reports on her first day at home: “I started petting her and she was doing mushy paws and purring. Then we played a bit and she pretty much just followed me around and kept an eye on me for the rest of the day.”

🎉Clove & Wasabi are settling in to their new homes as we speak!
Clove was originally a socialization kitten who made progress in leaps and bounds while here at Purrington’s. She even accepts belly rubs now! And Wasabi has remained her steadfast sweet, loving, quiet, beautiful self.

We can’t figure out why these amazing tuxies haven’t been scooped up yet!
Pomelo is playful, sweet, engaging and loves to play with both humans and other cats. Prom Queen is talkative, affectionate, active, and gets along with everyone. Basil is still learning how to feel safe with humans but loves pets, wand toys, churu treats, and snuggling with his cat friends.
Make an appointment to meet them on our reservation site and prepare to fall in love!

🎉Congratulations to Quinn, Vinny, & their new families!
Quinn is just the sweetest - equal parts playful and affectionate! Vinny’s pretty low-key for such a young guy and loves to cuddle. He has something called Microphthalmia, which does affect his vision but certainly doesn’t affect his quality of life! We are so happy for everybody! 💓

Mrs Iron Man & Hulk are in their forever home together! The shelter will often designate cats as a “bonded pair” when one of the pair is a shyer, more timid cat to help them with their confidence. Hulk definitely feels braver and more at ease when Mrs Iron Man is there with him. We are so happy for these two and their new family! 💓

What a week it's been. We have some unfortunate news to share about the Purrington's foster kitties. Despite being completely asymptomatic after multiple Woods Lamp tests & the fact that they bathe themselves & each other multiple times a day, Zinius, Luna, & Thorn tested positive for ringworm (which is actually a fungus & not a worm!) & have gone back to the shelter for treatment. We miss them dearly & are pretty bummed about this development, but we know they are in the best of hands, receiving the very best care @catadoptpdx. How did we know they have ringworm, you ask? We actually began showing signs of ringworm rashes on ourselves. Don't worry, it's pretty simple to treat in humans & is similar to contracting something like athlete's foot. We are now going through the multi-step cleaning processes recommended by the veterinarians at @catadoptpdx & taking lots of extra precautions to make sure the space is completely sanitized. Our Story

The Lounge

Our lounge is a relaxed and inviting space where adoptable cats and people can interact with the ultimate goal of finding loving, permanent homes for cats. The cats are provided by Cat Adoption Team, and we are proud to support their mission.

The lounge is open from 10am - 8pm, Tues. - Sun. Reservations are recommended but not required.
