Suzie came to us from a shelter in Washington. She is a sweet, affectionate, and energetic 7.5-month-old Samoyed mix puppy (we are waiting for the results of her DNA test). Her foster has nicknamed her “the Energizer Bunny.”

Suzie is a playful pup with a big heart, but her enthusiasm can sometimes come across as a bit rough during playtime. Think of her as a teenager who needs some guidance – she wasn’t given the training she deserves in her previous home. Despite her exuberance, she’s a loving and affectionate dog who craves attention.

Her ideal match is a family with experience and the time to help her learn proper play etiquette. If you have another dog, a playful and confident companion would be ideal, so they can show her the ropes.

Chalky is a sweet old dog who arrived at Northwest Samoyed Rescue in rough shape, but with the care and love of his current foster, this boy is on the path to better health.

We thought, given his age, that there was a chance Chalky would be a “permanent foster” in his current environment, but with some changes in that environment, we need to find him a new spot for a soft landing. With his back legs starting to give out a bit, we know that may be a relatively brief stay, but the right adopter will no doubt quickly discover what his current foster put best: Chalky is the kind of dog you wish you had his whole life.

Important Information about Xylitol - What You Can Do
OK, I think we all know the dangers of Xylitol a substance found in sugarless gum, candy and even some peanut butter. Here's something everyone needs to be aware of. This is from a woman who’s Lab ate 1/2 a pack of her daughter's sugar free gum.
As she headed for an emergency clinic, she was advised by the emergency vet to stop and get some sugar and administer it to the dog. When a dog ingests Xylitol, it causes the dog's sugar levels to tank, causing seizures and eventually death. She said the dog almost returned to normal after receiving the sugar . However, this is not a cure, but a stopgap measure to buy your dog some time. This is because, if not treated, the Xylitol will shortly attack the dog's liver, killing it within 2 days.
The bottom line is. Yes, administer sugar, but get to an emergency Vet as fast as you can.
This information can save your dog. One piece of sugar free gum can be fatal to your dog.
