I have to admit, being down to just 2 horses is really nice in so many ways.

I had the opportunity to visit Tango and Khate in the Bend area last week and they are fine. I have to admit I was disappointed when I called out their names and there was no big whinny or a look of "there your are, you found me". I have to remember that horses don't think like us, but still...

I'm trying to think of a new business name for when I move to Central Oregon and am organized to start teaching again.

I am really excited that I will be in Reno the week of Arabian horse Regionals. I have a week booked at my timeshare in Reno, then up to Lake Tahoe at another timeshare for a week.

That is going to be 2 weeks without riding. I don't know the last time I have gone that long, I usually ride everyday.

I have quite a bit of GoPro footage riding I need to edit. I'm so lazy at that part.

I have rehomed two of my horses. MS Vanilla Pie was gifted to Sarah Lahm. Sarah sold Max and I our first Arabian gelding, SX Koda Chrome when he was 6 months old and we owned him till he was laid to rest at age 26. Max gifted his mare, Tango, to a teenager in Bend who recently lost her older horse. Both horses are at the same place in Bend. It was hard letting them go, but knowing they have such great homes helps. I have to admit, I like the lighter workload but it feels weird, especially after having let Cowboy go over the Rainbow Bridge not too long ago. I have normally had between 4 and 7 horses at one time my whole life.

I still have so many things at age 70 I want to accomplish with horses.

My mother asked me one day when I would be done with horses. I quickly replied, "never". That was over 40 years ago.

Life would be easier if I was "done with horses" but I'm not sure how or if I can do that. Some day that time will come, but not now.

Time to clean stalls!

It was 111 degrees yesterday. I fly masked and sprayed the herd and left the indoor arena open on both ends. I have fans set up that they can safely stand in front of. I also dumped and refilled tanks. I hosed the arena down to help with dust. None of them are interested in being hosed off, but they would not hesitate to go onto the river. I also have soaker hose I can set up somewhere but I have a feeling they would ignore it. The horses definitely know the cooler areas of the property and there is always that head to tail stance that benefits each horses head to be swatted for pesky flies.

Stay cool everyone and protect your animals.
