Thanks to all who turned out for our 5 year anniversary party! We finally commemorated this event by printing and framing our custom can label. 🎉
Our beer release made possible by our friends and raised $500 EACH for , & after the costs of brewing and canning were covered. We feel so lucky to be a part of such a special community and we can’t wait to do it again! Thank you to all who purchased beer, showed up to our event to learn more about these non-profit groups and eat some amazing pizza, or made a donation directly to these organizations. 🍻

Using Birdie’s cuteness as an attention grab to inform everyone that we will be *CLOSED* on the 4th of July!
We will reopen at 7am on Friday the 5th.
Please keep your pets safe inside and away from fireworks! This holiday can be scary and dangerous for animals (and humans), and more pets go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year.

I think we all strive to be as relaxed as Kiva at any point in our lives, but when the fireworks start (and sometimes don’t stop for days), it’s especially important for our pets to feel safe and calm because more animals go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year.
Now is the time to contact us if you think your cat or dog will need some pharmaceutical help to get them through the holiday, as it is very important to trial these types of medications to ensure it is the right one for your pet.
⭐️ Please keep in mind that sedatives work best when administered at least 12-24 hours prior to a stressful event, and can be less effective when given after your pet is already scared!
⭐️ Keep your animals home - be sure to secure cats indoors early in the day to prevent them from running away during fireworks and prepare a safe spot for your dogs to be, consider running a fan or a white noise machine and closing the blinds.
⭐️ Make sure all your pets have updated ID tags and microchips.
⭐️ Please don’t bring your dog to watch the fireworks - it’s painfully loud for them and very scary!

This is our friend Earl. She was adopted just about 6 months ago, and has had quite an eventful time with her new family. In addition to multiple trips to the ER for various GI issues, Earl has also been working with a veterinary behaviorist for her reactivity. Basket muzzle training has been a huge part of her new life! . See, Earl is as sweet as they come, but can be unpredictable in her reactions to other dogs or strangers handling her. She specifically was pretty unsure of us weirdos in scrubs and masks! . But her new family has not only done a great job showing Earl all the cool things about dog life, but also becoming a wonderful example of how important basket muzzle training is. Just look at this happy and comfortable girl! . Muzzles do not mean a dog will bite you. It does not mean a dog has bitten someone. It does not mean a dog is “aggressive”. Basket muzzles are a great training tool, especially for pups who are working on reactivity and inhibition. They provide a safe boundary for the dog, and in a veterinary setting they help keep staff members safe too. Because of Earl’s hard work in the last few months, her comfort in her muzzle, and some great medications on board, she has been able to have a positive vet experience at every visit. . Many see a basket muzzle and think “aggression”, but most veterinary professionals see one and only see a dog (and their human!) who is working on boundaries, confidence, and patience. That’s something to be proud of! We ❤️ you @earlthegirlboxer . **Basket muzzle training is a process! Please reach out to us or a trainer if you are interested in getting your pup comfortable with one. We ONLY recommend Positive Reinforcement trainers. For a list of recommendations, please visit our website.
