Charlie used to be *very* nervous and shut down during his vet visits, but his mom and our team have worked hard over the last two years to help get him more comfortable with us.
For Charlie, and most dogs, this process includes trialing multiple different anxiety medications, utilizing positive reinforcement training/handling at home, the flexibility of our team to try new things like different exam rooms or areas of the clinic, and allowing Charlie to tell us what he’s comfortable with!
At his most recent exam, Charlie was confident and sweet, and he calmly allowed a full physical exam - including his ears and teeth and abdominal palpation 😭 He of course got ALL the treats too.
