🌟Please welcome Dr. Stephanie Godwin to the BYVH Team!🌟
Next week Dr. Godwin will join us as a full-time associate veterinarian, and we are *so* excited to have her here.

Growing up as a very active member of the 4-H community in Southern Oregon before receiving her Bachelor’s degree and Doctoral degree from OSU, it’s clear that Dr. Godwin brings lifelong dedication and passion to her patient care.

She enjoys the variety that a general practice has to offer and has a strong interest in preventative medicine, dermatology, and dentistry, as well as client connection and education.

In her free time, Dr. Godwin enjoys baking, exploring new restaurants, and hanging out with friends and family - her husband, two human children, and two dog children Bailey and Charlie.
👉🏽She is also a distance runner and will be kicking ass in the Portland Marathon this weekend!!!

This lil buddy was rescued after falling out of tree trying to run away from a dog. He fractured a leg, but his sweet silly heart is very full.
His new mom is the one who found him, so he’s now on the road to recovery in his forever home with a cat and dog sibling to keep him company. Yay Frank!

Hello! 👋
I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend and these last days of summer. Our staff is taking a much deserved break on Monday. The season of change is upon us!🍃
As many of you know we are embarking on another adventure with the opening of , an urgent care clinic in Hillsboro, OR in early 2025. As we announced this new clinic, we’ve received many questions about what I am going to do and how would that affect BYVH. I’ve been letting my clients know that I will be stepping away from my normal schedule here at Brooklyn Yard, but will still be present covering shifts at the clinic and continuing to refine our practice and culture. I will be operating in a bit of a different capacity for the next year or so. I will be physically present to support all of our new staff, including our new veterinarian (announcement following soon!) and focus on making sure our upcoming scheduling changes to have more appointment availability are working well. I ❤️clinical practice, but also realize I need to focus on supporting after 5 years of finding our niche in the Portland veterinary space. Additionally, there is the work of opening Spruce Veterinary Irgen Care (it will be easier the second time around, right?!😂).

Thanks to all who turned out for our 5 year anniversary party! We finally commemorated this event by printing and framing our custom can label. 🎉
Our beer release made possible by our friends and raised $500 EACH for , & after the costs of brewing and canning were covered. We feel so lucky to be a part of such a special community and we can’t wait to do it again! BYVH is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our clinic as a full-time or part-time Veterinary Assistant!

Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Exam room management & digital record keeping
- Assisting veterinarians and technicians with treatments and procedures
- Patient handling and restraint with an emphasis on low-stress handling/Fear Free
- Venipuncture, vaccine administration
- Medication administration & filling prescriptions
- Digital radiology
- Client communication and education

Successful candidates will have:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a comparable position within a small animal veterinary hospital
- Availability to work Saturdays
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing attention to detail or safety
- An inquisitive nature and desire to learn
- Reliability
- High emotional intelligence. This can be a stressful job and how an individual chooses to communicate, both with clients and colleagues, can make all the difference!

💰Starting wage is $22-26, depending on experience.
