Today's partner spotlight is WeShine PDX! WeShine stands for Welcoming, Empowering, Safe Habitation Initiative with Neighborhood Engagement. Their mission is to designs, build, and operate neighborhood-based micro-villages that provide safe, transitional shelter and services where vulnerable, unsheltered adults in the Portland metropolitan area can live as they prepare to become successful tenants in permanent, affordable housing.

We are so happy to be able to support the important work they do by providing essential pet supplies to their residents, helping to keep pets with their loving families. Pictured are a few of We!Shine's furry residents!

Meet Ellen.
•
Welcome to the Ellen Show! I’m your host, Ellen!
I’m a friendly, playful, loving puppy with the cutest face to seal the deal. Even though I’m still young, I’ve been acing my basic skills training and socialization classes. I’m super smart and would love to keep learning new cues, activities, and manners. I’m already crate trained, potty trained, and know the basics of being a rockstar puppy citizen.

I’m still learning to control my energy and enthusiasm when playing with other dogs, so a tolerant and communicative pup pal would be ideal. I would also be happy as an only child with a family that can keep me active and stimulated. I’ve shown some cat chasing tendencies, but it’s mostly playful, so I could learn to live with a dog savvy cat under the right circumstances. Because I’m part St. Bernard, you can expect me to continue growing for a while. I might get big, but never too big to cuddle up in your lap and shower you in kisses. If you have a big, scruffy puppy shaped hole in your heart, come meet me and fall in love!

Give!Guide is all about partnerships and today we want to highlight an organization who we are thrilled to have as part of our 'Pack'.

Cascadia Health delivers Whole Health Care(TM). They provide mental health services, addiction recovery support, primary care, wellness programs, permanent housing solutions and affordable housing to people of all ages. One of their many programs is their Outreach Team. This team meets people where they are to provide life-saving supplies and health and housing services.

With aligned missions, we are so grateful to be able to provide Cascadia's Street Outreach Team with essential pet care supplies such as pet food, leashes, harnesses, and more, with the goal to help keep pets with their families. This year, with the help of Oregon Community Foundation's grants, we were able to provide Cascadia Health with 50 backpacks stocked full of pet supplies and human supplies to aid in their street outreach.

Animal Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization that has been passionately serving animals and the people they love since 1969. We operate a free-roam shelter for cats, a foster program for cats and dogs, and two community programs: The Animal Aid Cares Fund, a partnership with veterinarians across Portland to provide financial assistance for urgent vet care, and C-SNIP (Canine Spay/Neuter in Portland) a partnership with PAW Team to provide funding for canine spay/neuter services to homeless and low-income families.
