Animal Aid, Inc. Animal Aid of Portland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue and welfare organization, passionately serving animals and the people they love since 1969.

Bingo with Cats is back with a St. Patrick's Day Theme and we are doing things a little bit different this time.

Both sessions will be on Sunday 3/16 at our shelter. The first session will be all ages from 12:30-2pm. Then from 6:30-8pm, we will have a 21+ session 🍻

Happy new year from Animal Aid! In 2024, we began to grow our dog program a bit and hope to continue to do so in 2025.

Which leads us to one of our current residents, Rocky. He’s had a really tough few months, but he’s been surprising us all with his resilience and loving personality. Even though we love him dearly and are having so much fun with him here, we’d really love to find him is perfect home soon! We are open to both long term foster placements and foster-to-adopt arrangements, really prioritizing people who are considering permanency since he’s already had more than enough environmental transitions.

Send us a message if interested, we are happy to answer any questions regarding the details of his needs. He’s the most special boy with the biggest heart, and we all want to see him find his forever family once and for all.

The Cupcake Girls is a nonprofit that provides confidential support to those involved in the s*x industry, as well as trauma-informed outreach, advocacy, holistic resources, and referral services to provide prevention and aftercare to those affected by s*x trafficking.

We have two sessions to choose from and not only will you receive cat snuggles while you play bingo, but there will be vegan cupcakes and beverages for you to enjoy, as well as raffle baskets and bingo prizes!

Partner Spotlight!

The Pongo Fund is Oregon’s only full-time charity focused on fighting animal hunger. Why? Because hungry people have hungry pets.

They operate a pet food bank that is run by over 100 dedicated volunteers and have provided more than 37 million meals for more than 230,000 hungry and loved animals across Oregon, Washington, and beyond.

We are so thankful to have them as part of our Pack - each month they donate bags of dog food to Animal Aid, so we can distribute it to other Pack partners. Community working together to help pets AND their people!

Our Story

Animal Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization that has been passionately serving animals and the people they love since 1969. We operate a free-roam shelter for cats, a foster program for cats and dogs, and two community programs: The Animal Aid Cares Fund, a partnership with veterinarians across Portland to provide financial assistance for urgent vet care, and C-SNIP (Canine Spay/Neuter in Portland) a partnership with PAW Team to provide funding for canine spay/neuter services to homeless and low-income families.
