We are thrilled to announce that we have new veterinarian joining our team! Dr. Erin Furmaga will begin working at the clinic on January 6th, 2025.

A bit about Dr. Furmaga:

Dr. Erin Furmaga graduated from University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison, Wisconsin in 2023. Before veterinary school, she completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology at Columbia University and worked in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory.

Her areas of interest in veterinary medicine include geriatric feline medicine, dentistry, oncology, and gastrointestinal disease management. When she’s not at work, she enjoys hanging out with her partner, reading, enjoying the outdoors, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with her two cats, Freya and Loki.

**FOUND CAT** This handsome guy was found on SE 57th and Woodstock today. He’s not chipped but is definitely loved as he’s well fed and healthy! Please help us find his family! We are here until 5 today. He will go home with one of our tech assistants until next week! Call us if you know him!

Check out this pesky ear mite that our team spotted under a microscope! 🔬 Ear mites are a common skin parasite found on cats and dogs that can barely be seen with the naked 👁. These critters are highly contagious through direct contact with an infested animal🙊. Ear mites are usually found in the ear canal with clinical signs that include: excessive scratching, dark waxy/crusty discharge from ears, and inflammation. Good news! There is treatment to eradicate an ear mite infection 🙌
