Our New Years Pawsolution is to Move More, so we're sharing our staff's favorite local walks!

Stephanie's pick: Pine Point Beach in Scarborough. Her Australian Shepherd, Glitch, loves to run up and down the beach. After sustaining a back injury a couple of years ago, swimming in the water is a great way for Glitch to get exercise that doesn't strain her muscles!

Sylvie's pick: Hinckley Park in South Portland. With lots of looping trails that cover a variety of habitat, store dog Dory, a cattle dog mix, can meander to her heart's content! Hinckley has great sight lines and multiple trail options, so it's great for seeing if there are other people approaching from the opposite direction.

Jack's pick: East End Beach in Portland. A local hot spot for dogs, East End Beach is red heeler, R2-D2's, favorite for meeting new friends! He loves to play, swim, and fetch, and this area checks all three boxes for him.

🐶: Winston the miniature dachshund! He and his mom are hilarious!

🐶: I sit on the edge of the tub and watch Mom take a shower every day.

🐶: I'm a master at fetching.

🐶: A Great Dane.

🐱: Either Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Binx from Hocus Pocus. We all share some iconic black cat energy!

"Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?"
🐱: Binx from Hocus Pocus. The resemblance is uncanny!!!

"Do you have any pet quirks?"
🐱: I have a funny lil wobble when I walk and my bottom k9 tooth gets stuck on my lip since I’m missing my top one! It makes me look like I’m making a stink face even when I’m not!

"Do you have any special talents?"
🐱: Running around with a toy spring in my mouth and yelling to let my human know that I did, in fact, catch it

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
🐱: A vampire, except I think I’m missing a k9 tooth that I’d need to become that.

"Who is your best friend?"
🐱: I don’t like to admit it, but my kitty sister Maple. We only ACT like we don’t like each other but I don’t know what I’d do without her.

🐱: Having thumbs that can open doors and treat jars. Then my human wouldn’t have to do it for me and I could steal a snack anytime I want!

"If you could be any other kind of animal, what would you be?"
🐱: A panther.

🐱: Play with my cat dancer toy and snuggle under the blankets.

🐱: The noises that come from the TV.

This week, meet Coco, a Goldendoodle with an excellent sniffer, and who burps like a human! Read on!

"If you could have dinner with any famous pet, who would it be and why?"
🐶: Snoopy! He is mischievous like me!

"Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?"
🐶: Lambchop, especially when I am sleeping!

"Do you have any pet quirks?"
🐶: I burp like a human!

"Do you have any special talents?"
🐶: I'm a very fast runner! In another life, I think I was was a hunting dog.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
🐶: I have a powerful sniffer and love being outdoors. I think I'd make a good search and rescue dog.

"Who is your best friend?"
🐶: My older dog sister, Blaze. She showed me the ropes when I joined the family. I like beating her in running races around our yard.

"If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?"
🐶: I'd make food appear out of nowhere, I love a good meal!

"If you could be any other kind of animal, what would you be?"
🐶: I'd definitely be a squirrel. I find them endlessly fascinating. I wish I could climb trees, too.

"What is your favorite thing to do with your human(s)?"
🐶: Go on car rides, go for long walks and hikes, being off leash so I can be free! I also like when they leave food unattended! Woohoo!

"What is your biggest fear?"
🐶: I am pretty fearless! But I don't like when Blaze, my sister, gets to do something that I am not included on.

"What's the most embarrassing thing your human has done to you?"
🐶: They make me get my picture taken in silly photo booths! It's hard to sit still.

For those unaware, Zip is the inspiration behind the Fish & Bone (known then as Fetch)! He fell asleep during the photoshoot and started doing what he did best - snoring!
