Todays Enrichment group and puppy social was all about learning how to read social cues from our friends and engage/disengage in activities. We focused on helping the pups learn how to pick up on our friends body language, and respect their space when they are ready for a break from play. Some dogs are pretty clear when they’re done and will just walk away (disengage) from the play, when their playmate doesn’t quite know how to do that yet they might not pick up on that cue and continue to try to engage with them. That’s where we step in! We help redirect their focus on doing something else while advocating for the other dogs space. That way play stays fair and fun for everyone involved! 🙌🌟

Resident Enrichment Group Coordinator, Bug (first photo brown and white dog), stopped in today to supervise the new crew. He passed a pup into daycare, yay Momoa! And helped the other pups in attendance brush up on their recalls and appropriate play!

A very dear friend crossed the rainbow bridge yeaterday. Abe was the silliest and most charming little man. We all adored him here at Mother Pupper. We want to say thank you to his mama for sharing him with us over the years. He always made our days walking through that door every week shaking his little pom pom tail with so much excitement. We’re gonna miss you little man. Thank you for making daycare so bright for so many years we love you. 💖🌈

Enrichment Group and Puppy Social was all about the recall baby! It’s easy to get zoned in when you’re having so much fun with your friends but it’s important that we’re able to recall all our pups here so we can guide them through appropriate play and give them a little breather when they need it! The go to bed command is a really helpful tool to use with recall as well. We always want to bike able to interrupt play if it’s getting a little too intense and avoid overstimulation! ⭐️🐾

🚨Stop scrolling!🚨 Taco has a very important Enrichment Group/Puppy Social update. Today we had a blast working on our confidence building while staying engaged with the handlers. We want to encourage our more nervous pups to step out of their comfort zone and participate in play but also to recall out of that play and focus on us when we need them to! The wobble board came out which is also another great confidence builder. Some pups brushed up on our “Go to bed” command and the new guys got introduced to it today. Another successful Saturday here at MP! 💖🐾

Today our reigning treat catching campion is retiring. This is Alpine’s last day of daycare! She will miss all her lifelong pals but if you want to see the continuing adventures of Alpine and MJ follow them @alpine_amour. The good news is treat catching crown is now up for grabs. You’d best be practicing. Three spins, ten catches, one long distance catch to show off her skills here one final time 😭.

Sammy’s first night at sleep away camp. Someone’s going to sleep well tonight…and this is after daycare!
