🐴 Horses deserve to be trained with the most ethical methods. We have to continually work to improve our riding and horsemanship skills to ensure that we are positively affecting their health. Training from Back to Front always ~ no excuses or shortcuts 🦄

✨How can the position of the leg dramatically affect the influence of the rider’s seat? “WOW, I had no idea that I could have this connection and influence!” is most often the response after Agi repositions a rider’s leg 🥳🥳🥳
✨Clear communication, without “white noise” or static, is just one of the benefits to your horse as you improve your position 🎉🎉

We may have tried resistance bands at the gym, but what about in the saddle? Resistance bands will help you mimic the use of muscles needed to keep you balanced in the saddle.

This course covers a variety of training topics, from handling on the ground to mounted work to trailering and much more. A new topic is added monthly. Agi teaches us how a horse thinks and reacts to us and the practice of self-awareness.

Am excited to join this lovely group of horse-first thinkers!

Meeting Place Equine is happy to introduce our newest guest instructor, Agi Yother of Bodies in Motion! We are very excited to have her join us! Her course will launch this month. It will work a little differently than most courses...We will tell you more about it tomorrow. 🙂🏇

Agi resides in San Leandro, California.

"I find it very rewarding to share the knowledge that I've gained to help riders with various position issues find a more balanced and effective position. I am thrilled when students come to me with something they've been struggling with and we are able to uncover what is going wrong and how to use correct biomechanics to make a positive change.

After a serious riding accident in the late 90's, I had to take a break from training and competing in eventing. Through my rehabilitation and recovery, I worked with a number of physical therapists who helped me regain my strength and balance for riding and introduced me to the biomechanics work.

When I returned to riding, my focus was on dressage and I began riding with FEl trainer and judge, Sandy Howard. Sandy encouraged me to work with biomechanics coach, Mary Wanless. I continue to update my biomechanics training through yearly Biomechanics Workshops and Teacher Training courses with Mary Wanless.

My teaching emphasizes developing a self-awareness of how our actions impact our horses. From handling on the ground to under-saddle work, my focus is on teaching students how a horse thinks and reacts to our movement. I teach individual lessons and give clinics." - Agi Yother

⛺️ Had fun teaching a clinic to advanced camp students at Victoria Dye Equestrian LLC! It was rewarding to see the happiness on students’ faces as they worked through the lessons and observed the changes in relaxation in their horses, that which their own hands had facilitated with the lightest touch 🪶 One camper commented about her horse “She’s usually so grumpy…but not right now! She’s happy!”

Taking a deep dive into the seat and position without the distraction from a moving horse is something we can all benefit from to improve the partnership with our horse. 🐴💕
One of the most common position corrections that I make is for a rider leaning back. The connection in the saddle that is gained when the rider is in better alignment brings on many "Oh, wow!" moments. 💡
I love helping riders find better balance and a deeper connection to their horse. 🌠

Coming together to learn how horses think, and how to be the best version of a human partner for them 🦄💕 These clinics always re-ignite my determination and energize me to reach further to educate my students and share with our horse-loving community. We covered a lot of material in two days!

Relaxation techniques, off-horse exercises, biomechanics under saddle, observation of demo riders, awareness exercises, breathing at walk/trot/canter…This group knocked it out of the park helping their horses regulate their emotions and improve their posture before and during all ridden work 🙏 My dream is that one day, this will be normalized in the equine world among instructors, students, owners, vets, grooms, etc. We will all be better for it! 🦄
