Remi is ready to join your family 🩵🥰

This sweet boy has had a tough start to life - he has been returned to us 3 times since he arrived at our facility back in February of 2023. 💔

He can get nervous in new environments and it just takes him a little bit to warm up. Once he gets to know you, he will absolutely adore you ❤️ he is incredibly sweet and does well with female dogs (Randi, the husky, is his kennel mate)! A couple of trainers have been working with him recently and he already has so much more confidence. They’ve been leash training him as well!

We know Remi’s forever home is out there somewhere. Please help us get him adopted 🥹

💥🤩 MARK YOUR CALENDARS! 🗓️🍻

We are having the 3rd annual Barks, Beer, BBQ 2024 on September 7th from 2pm - 8pm @ the Scioto County Fairgrounds! 🎉

There will be pets available for adoption (dogs, cats, puppies & kittens at reduced fees), live music, vendors and food trucks! 🎶🛍️

The proceeds directly support our ongoing mission of helping community animals in need. Our funds are very low and with the loss of our Daily Cash giveaway contest, we are desperate to make up for the loss of funds we will face in the coming months. By showing up to donate, adopt, foster or just to enjoy a nice evening of shopping and live music, you are helping us so much!

Our event last year was a huge success but we’d love to see even more of you there 😉🤩

🤎🩵 Bonnie is still waiting to be adopted!!! 🩵🤎

She is potty trained, dog friendly (no cats though) and good with kids! Her previous owners said she loved going for walks, car rides and playing with the other dog in the home! She is already fully vetted too!

CASH GIVEAWAY FUNDRAISER - Unfortunately for the shelter and our animals, our executive director received word from the Attorney General's office that we have to immediately discontinue this fundraiser. The notice indicates we are not not allowed to do games of chance as a fundraiser, that it's illegal.

First let me say how grateful we are to everyone who has supported this fundraiser. For those of you who have recurring monthly donations for your tickets, we will be going into PayPal and canceling those this week (unless you want to continue with it as just a monthly donation - if so, let me know).

For those of you who paid for the full year, we will refund you the balance of the year (4 months). If you would like to donate that balance to Sierra's Haven, please contact Linda Cottle via text at 740-935-1164.

THANK YOU again to everyone for your many years of support. This is a big loss for Sierra's Haven as the shelter is way beyond capacity with animals and fundraising is difficult. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.♥️🐕🐈‍⬛

The 4 dogs pictured below are our ❗️LONGEST PUPPY HOUSE RESIDENTS ❗️

They are all dog and people friendly. Our puppy house staff is working with them on leash manners as well! Every resident will be fully vetted when adopted!

It is extremely hard for brindle dogs to get adopted out sadly (we’re not sure why though because they are extremely cute 🤭). Help us change the lives of these pups by finding their forever homes 🏡

This boy has come SO far in his time with us. His one year anniversary of being with us is coming up in September 💔😭

Though he needs a few minutes to warm up to you initially, he can be so sweet! He does not do well with cats but perhaps he would do well with dogs his size (bring your doggos for a meet & greet). He will be fully vetted when adopted as well.

ADOPT BONNIE 🦋🤎🌸💖

Bonnie has recently made her way back to our facility after being adopted over a year ago.

Her previous family said she loved playing with her dog brother, was good with their kiddo, enjoyed car rides, walks, snoozin’ under their bed and spending time with her humans ❤️

Bonnie is not good with cats (but is good with dogs and respectful children). She is already spayed and will be fully vetted when adopted 🎉

Where are our chihuahua lovers at? ❤️

Inky was adopted from us 8 months ago but is now being returned as he does not like men.

He was essentially feral when he was at our facility for around a year. He has made a lot of progress since being adopted - he is dog friendly, pad trained (will potty outside too), does well in the car and allows others to bathe/clip his nails. He loves women and is super friendly with them but does not like men/boys as he lunges and barks. 😢

Due to him being in a home for months now, we do not want him going back to our kennels as he would likely regress. 😥 Please help us find his forever home.

We know that we continue to say this, but we are ❗️BEYOND CAPACITY❗️ and desperately need adopters to come forward.

Our dog kennels are full and we have no space in our cat rooms. Puppies are growing up at our facility and we have dogs and cats that have spent months, if not years, waiting to find their forever homes. We have so many amazing animals waiting to be adopted. Though our staff and volunteers love our animals dearly, our main goal is to help them find the incredible, forever homes they deserve 🩵

Cami’s time in her temporary foster home ends tomorrow and she will be heading back to the shelter!

Shockingly, she has had very little interest since we’ve posted her 😞 she would be a wonderful companion for an elderly person looking for a senior pet.

Her awesome foster mom has said that she appears to be potty trained and crate trained! She absolutely adores her toys! She will be fully vetted when adopted.

Remember Cami? She was found roaming around Portsmouth and arrived at our facility in horrible condition in March after being attacked by another animal. She was covered in wounds from head to toe 💔

After lots of love and care, she looks amazing now 🥰 her wounds are healed, her fur has grown back and she is ready to bring so much love to your home!

She is estimated to be at least 8 yrs old. She is dog friendly (she met small, medium and large size dogs today and did great)! She absolutely LOVES toys 🥹 and is so proud to carry her stuffed animals around 🧸

She is currently in a foster home for the weekend so we’d love to find her forever home SOON! Message us to apply and to set up a meet & greet. We promise, you won’t regret meeting this girl 💖
