Our adoptions have decreased drastically 💔

Though we know the shelter overpopulation crisis is impacting the entire country, it still doesn’t make it any easier watching our AMAZING residents continue to wait months and months for their forever homes.

We currently have over 250 animals in our care. Kittens, adult cats, small breed dogs, large adult dogs, young puppies, etc. - you name it, we are sure to have it 🥰

If you’re looking to add a furbaby to your family, you are welcome to stop by anytime during our open hours (Monday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm @ 80 Easter Drive, Portsmouth, OH). Our animals would LOVE to meet you! ❤️

This race will begin at 2:00pm on October 5th in Russell, KY! On-site registration will begin at 1:00 pm (or you can pre-register before the race through the link below). All information needed can be found on the registration page!

SUNDAY OCTOBER 26, 2025
$30 (Includes Rabies vaccine)
No income or residency restrictions - open to everyone.
Call 740-353-5100 between 10 and 4 (except Sundays)to get scheduled.
1. Kittens must weigh at least 3 pounds
2. Each cat must be in its own secure carrier.
3. Nothing to eat after midnight (water okay)
4. Rabies vaccine required without proof.
5. CASH OR CHECK ONLY and the exact amount is helpful and speeds up the process! NO CREDIT CARDS
We always get asked "when are you going to do this for females" and unfortunately we cannot offer this service for female cats/dogs or male dog neuters.

These 6 ADORABLE pups have been waiting since May to find their forever homes!!!! Can you believe it?! 😔

They are 6 months old and thought to be Australian Shepherd mixes. They are incredibly sweet pups that are more than ready to officially start their lives with their new families! 💕
They are dog friendly too!
