Friday: Food as Fuel 💪🏼

I made the change to raw for my dogs a few years ago. Here’s my experience with feeding a whole foods, organic, reaponsibly-sourced diet:

🫶🏼 The pups LOVE it & ENJOY eating it. Even my picky eater is almost at the point of needing a slow feeder bowl, plate, or licky mat.

🤒 They do not have chronic illnesses, rarely get sick, and when they do they typically respond to food/supplements as medicine. My vet visits are limited to a yearly event for the most part.

👴🏾 They’re aging gracefully. At 12 and almost 14 these two still run hard, play, engage in learning exercises, have high mobility, have strong appetites, hearing, and sight, and jump in and out of the back of the SUV. We’ve slowed down a *bit*, but at a rate much slower than any other dog I’ve ever had. And part of that is because I’m busy!

🧡 carry a leash with you

🧡 add a bear bell (or two)

🧡 be extra respectful of nature!

we hosted one of our ✨goofiest✨ buddies for two whole weeks recently, and it was such a blast! from the beach 🏖 to the lake 🌲 to the pool 🏊‍♀️ ollie, puck, and diego sure got their miles in in the water 💦 to beat this summer’s heat wave ☄️☀️ (complete with all the snacks, of course). slumber paw-ties are that much more fun when it’s one of your long time camp fur-iends 😍 until next time, ollie! 🐾 (look at that face 🥹)

monsieur floof! ☁️✨ charlie bear turns 7 this weekend ✌🏼🤚🏼 so this pup joined us today for a guest appearance *just* to celebrate him and his next trip around the sun 💫☀️😍 we filled it with snuggles 🥰 bday cake 🎂 furiends 🐾 and, of course, that classic poodle trail trot 🐩😍 how do they grow up so fast?! 🥹

5/27/22 🐾 mabel has had some physical limitations lately, keeping her from occasional daily activities, but that doesn’t keep her from spending the day at the base camp with her buddies! her dad drops her off and picks her up each day on his way to and from work 😍 even when he has the old jobsite truck, mabel figures out a way to fit on the bench seat 😂

this sweet soul of a pup started his puppy program saturday! we targeted his owners’ main concerns for our first lesson, which included:

- finding a daily routine to set him up for success in regards to house training (that works for both him and his parents)
- realistic behavioral expectations of puppies, and skills to help navigate around their shenanigans
- biting/teething
- introduction to a marker word

cant wait to support this pup and his paw-rents as he grows into a gorgous doggo!

diego and I have learned *so* much about appropriate play in the last few years. it’s incredible to experience the “fruit of the labor” lately, and watch him interact with us and others in a way I had never seen him do before 💘 this dog has my heart in a puddle

A new generation of “dog walking”

Hi all!

I am the pack leader of Expawditions, LLC : an off-leash adventure dog walking company I started a few years ago as a side hustle. We are now celebrating being full-time for one year this Fall, and things are going so much better than I could have ever dreamed!

I have two fur-babies (and co-leaders) I treat like children. Their names are Puck (left- 8 year old Boxer/Aussie Mix), and Diego (right- 9 year old Shepherd/Hound/Lab Mix). They make appearances often, so keep a lookout!

Pups are cognitive creatures and receive great benefit from environmental engagement, just like we do!
