Best Girl Cauliflower has been doing fantastic in her foster home these last few weeks. She’s recovered nicely from the surgery she had to remove the dead and ouchy parts of her ears, and tomorrow she’ll undergo another surgery to open up her ear canals to prevent future chronic infection and a spay surgery! Tomorrow will be her THIRD, and hopefully last, procedure on her ears to get her back in tip-top shape. Send all your healing vibes and good thoughts to her magical medical team at Pungo Veterinary Clinic, who’s been caring for her and will perform the surgeries tomorrow.

We also have to give a huge shout out to the team at VCA Airline Boulevard Animal Hospital who was able to fit her in with no notice after we first received her. They’re ALWAYS ready make time for our animals whenever something walks in the door that needs immediate attention, and we’re eternally grateful! (And - we can’t wait to show you what we’re sending to their office tomorrow. Spoiler alert: it’s gonna be gross!)

To celebrate her health and decompress a little before her surgery, Cauliflower got to spend some time at MJ's Tavern today, getting belly rubs and extra good vibes.

Our Pet of the Week is a young German Shepherd named Zuri!

Zuri is just over 1 year old. She was surrendered to a partner shelter when she did not get along with another female canine in the home. Now, she's at the VBSPCA looking for her forever home.

Zuri is highly dog selective and may need multiple introductions with resident canines before going home. She seems to do better with males and/or smaller dogs and would be fine as the only dog too. Zuri needs a family with breed experience to help her thrive. As a plus, she is said to do well with children of all ages!

Zuri thanks Purina for providing delicious food for all felines and canines at the shelter as they wait for their forever homes.

Truth. We came to the conclusion that no matter if we have a dog for 15 years or 15 minutes, the pain of losing them is exactly the same. Within the last 18 months, we had to say goodbye to 5 of our babies. We were in such pain because of this that I couldn’t bring myself to publicly post each loss. So to our babies Chloe, Marco, max, AJ and Shane, your daddies miss and love you all so very much. Our Ives would not have been the same without you.

Labor Day weekend is fast approaching. If you haven’t reserved your baby’s room, I would encourage you to do it soon. We still have some rooms available but you know we fill up fast. Especially on holidays when there’s a great possibility that loud parties and fireworks will be a part of it. Everyone have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.

We have an exciting announcement to make!!!

Starting this Tuesday, Pittie Dog Grill will now be open for lunch on Tuesdays. We will be open from 11am until 3pm. We will also be launching a new special for Tuesdays, $5 Foot Long Chicken Philly. Tender shaved chicken, peppers and onions, in our Western New York Marinade with all our toppings available on them. So stop on by for a new place for lunch on Tuesdays. We will also be available for online ordering at Pittiedog.com or delivery from Uber.
