🥁🥁🥁The Answer Is: Ear Mites!!

These nasty little crawlers can cause a lot of irritation for our pets. Though we sometimes find them in dogs, Ear Mites like cats the best. One of the ways to prevent ear mites in your feline friends is to have them on monthly Nexgard Combo. Nexgard Combo is a once a month flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention for cats. Thank you to everyone who came out today for our Spay/Neuter day! We were able to fix 25 cats today! In doing so we were able to help with the overpopulation in our area.

Did you know that 25 cats could have produced over 2500 kittens in their lifetime?? Also by spaying and neutering these pets we are able to help provide them with a longer and healthier life. We plan to do more spay/neuter days in the future. Keep an eye on our page!

We would like to introduce you to one of our star patients. This is Ms. Sally. She unfortunately had a run in with a snake recently. Her people noticed that she was very painful and her front leg was swollen. They quickly brought her in to be checked out. Dr. Tackett found a bite wound on the swollen leg. We immediately started Sally on Antivenin to counteract the snake’s venom. She was an amazing patient. Thanks to her people’s fast action and Dr. Tackett’s quick treatment Sally made a full recovery!

Today is the beginning of National Veterinary Technician Week!
Did you know that Vet Techs go through special schooling as well as state and national certification in order to be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)? RVTs cover a multitude of responsibilities from patient care, anesthesia monitoring, client education, x-ray technicians, phlebotomists, to pharmacy technicians and many other things all in a day's work. Be sure to thank a Vet Tech this week for all the love and care they give your pets!

Bones are a dangerous trick for your pets! Bones, especially cooked bones, can splinter and cause issues from choking hazards, damage to the GI tract, blockages, pancreatitis and peritonitis. Please never feed your pet bones. If you ever wonder if it’s safe, ask your veterinarian!
