Today Sunrise Stables lost one of our bestest boys…Lakota.

We celebrated his birthday two weeks ago. Thirty years young.

He was graciously given to the barn two years ago by the Brooks family. During his time with us…there wasn’t a pony that took better care of his rider. No one can remember a single rider falling off him during his many lessons and pony camps.

This gentle and patient soul was loved by many.

May the fields be wide, the sun shine brightly, and the kids surround you with treats and pats. You were loved, Lakota. And you will be missed.

And that’s a wrap on the regular IEA season and we ended it by qualifying the team for Regionals in February. Additionally, Ellie and Hannah qualified individually for jumping.

Today the team tied for 3rd place, but ended up in 4th after the tiebreaker. Ellie placed 5th in jumping and 4th in flat, Zayda placed 3rd in flat and 6th in jumping, Shea placed 5th in jumping, Finley placed 4th in flat, Landon placed 2nd in flat, and Carly placed 4th in flat.

Congrats to the team on a great first season!

After a Reserve Champion tie-breaker...the Sunrise IEA team came in with a solid 3rd place today. And we had the high point high school rider on our team! A special shout out to Shea Kiah for that Championship ribbon!

The team now goes back to riding their own horses for about 6 weeks before the last show at the beginning of December.

The morning started with a chill in the air, but things definitely heated up for the second IEA show of the weekend. The Sunrise team walked away as Team Reserve Champions which meant awesome rides all around!

Today was the first outing for Sunrise Stable's IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) high school team! There were many great rides, lots of smiles, and a 3rd place finish for the team overall!

Next week the team travels to Gansevoort, NY for a two-day show! More pics, smiles, and ribbons coming!
