Welcoming our new team member, Brandea!

Brandea resides in Summit Station with her family and is a graduate of Northern Michigan Univeristy with a BS in Zoology and minor in Criminal Justice. Brandea started building her resume volunteering at zoos in the midwest, which led to accepting an internship at an exotic animal ranch right out of college. Here, she gained experience in husbandry, enrichment, diet, education, and not to mention hand raising some pretty cute kangaroos and camels.

A few years ago, life events brought Brandea back to Pennsylvania, where she immediately landed a job at an animal shelter. Here, she applied her knowledge to make her way up to running, and eventually managing the shelter successfully, over the past 6 years. Brandea's compassion for animals, and their caretakers, exudes through her work by going above and beyond to provide the best care possible. She is excited to bring her experiences to River Run and become apart of the vet team that cares for the four-legged family members in her community.

Meet Frank!

This guy was picked up in Pottsville as a stray and was fortunate to have been brought to us at River Run.

We were told he would need to be euthanized….

This is the sweetest cat ever…
Although he is an older guy he still has some s***k now that he’s feeling better.

He certainly would have died if left where he was found.

Frank does have hyperthyroidism which is now being treated and he is doing great! His head tilt is improving after having chronic ear infections, which we also treated.

If anyone has it in their heart to give this guy a loving forever home please reach out to us at River Run.

He’s been tested and is negative for feline Aids, Leukemia, and heart-worms.
Vaccinated for Rabies/FVRCP
Neutered
Microchipped
Dewormed
