Dear friends and family,

Our summer was busy with many wonderful things: beach time, mountain time, and college visits. We are most proud of the time that we spent at The Schuylkill Hope Center (formally Schuylkill Women In Crisis) Healing Garden 🌸 Our initial weekly efforts of helping wherever was needed with landscaping and such was meaningful and we felt that the garden’s impact could be greatly supported by an awareness campaign to continue the mission!

We hope to raise funds to support the further development of the garden’s pet shelter. This shelter will allow for families to stay close to their pets while seeking crisis housing.

Over 90% of women seeking emergency shelter report that the ability to keep pets with their children is factored into the decision whether or not to leave an unsafe situation😔

Please consider a generous donation to help cover the cost of pet support such as vet care, vaccinations, and pet food🐶 Check our page to see the amazing progress that the garden made in just a few months! Have you ever thought about what happens when families need to seek temporary housing because of a family crisis? Oftentimes, the family pet is not able to come to these facilities, and it often is a roadblock to those in need of help who refuse to leave their beloved pet behind.

In 2021, Schuylkill Women in Crisis, now known as Schuylkill Hope Center, recognized this concern and began to raise funds to further develop the Raymond & Maureen Dee Healing Garden. These gardens will include a pet shelter to house the pets nearby the family in need.

We are raising funds to support these efforts as well as the additional costs associated with the ongoing care of the pets such as vaccinations & food & grooming.
