Good chilly morning K9K friends -
I think I’ve been bamboozled!! GeeGee never has trouble getting a toy! She’s an expert problem solver!! Just so ya know - at the time she was “struggling” I was curled up with Max giving him some belly rubs. Mmmmhmmmm. You guessed it! She totally faked her “toy emergency” to get my attention! I thought the problem was she couldn’t get her toy when the REAL problem was I wasn’t paying attention to her! Gosh I love how dogs think! And this one made me laugh! Well done GeeGee - but I’m onto you now!
Happy New Year K9K friends!
For the new year, my wish is for all homeless dogs to find a home, for health and happiness for each of you, and lots of love, toys and treatos for your beautiful pups! We hope to see you in 2024! 💕
With Gratitude,
Nil
Sometimes when it’s windy and a leaf is stuck in the gutter, your Vizsla swears it’s a bird. This is what she was bred to do - flush out birds! It’s actually beautiful to watch her on birds. And a little funny to watch her on a leaf! For those of you that have heard stories of my dogs, this is the infamous Gracie, aka GeeGee!
What funny things do your dogs do?!

Hi K9K friends
Meet Bean and his mom Becca Gordineer . Bean loves cones a bit too much! Now mind you, this dog is an athlete. He’s a Doggy Ninja Warrior champion, a Doggy Olympics medalist and he’s such an amazing athlete he could compete and do well in Rally. Ummm, except for this itty bitty issue! We love Bean!! 🤣🤣🤣
Hi K9K friends!
Welcome back to ‘Topic Tuesday’!!
Today’s topic is about dog play. Too often I see people stopping dog corrections because they sound “aggressive”. The correcting dog usually gets in trouble for snarfing at another dog. BUT many times that snarf is necessary and communicates a “hey cut it out!” message to the other dog.
In dog play, it always helps to have a nice neutral adult dog to help puppies learn how to play nicely. This video is of my dogs 4 years ago. Here is Ruby (8 year old boxer) and Gracie (8 month old Vizsla) during a morning romp.
Gracie gets a little too rambunctious and you can see Roo correct her with her signature snort/snarf! It’s very subtle, but Ruby was always very clear! And Gracie immediately walks away and starts sniffing the grass - which is an appeasement gesture meaning “please stop yelling at me, I’m sorry!”
It’s important to note that each dog will correct in their own way. My dog Max is more tolerant but his corrections are louder and more dramatic. As long as there is no escalation into a scuffle, I let my adults handle Gracie’s unwelcomed shenanigans. If you have a multi dog household and you’re not sure if the corrections you see are appropriate, give us a call!

Sometimes we just like to have some fun! Gracie thinks this is the best trick …. Oh and just so ya know, Miss Gee added all the dramatic effects!
