ππ±Battling the Heat at Poughkeepsie Farm Project!
Our dedicated farmers at the Poughkeepsie Farm Project are working tirelessly to protect our crops and themselves from the intense heat! Despite the challenges, our team started early at 6 AM to harvest leafy greens and ensure fresh produce for our CSA, Food Share, and Wholesale customers. From rotating duties in the cooler to taking extra breaks, we're committed to sustainable farming and each other.
A big thank you to Ben Nandy from News 12 Hudson Valley for coming to the farm yesterday to talk about our educational programs and see how hard the farm team is working. Watch the story at the link below. We look forward to having them visit again soon! Stay cool and hydrated, everyone! π§β€οΈ

Throwback to the end of March when it was just starting to be not-cold and we were trying to determine if the soil in our cover cropped sections was too wet to work. Here, Pat gives a quick lesson on soil moisture, composition and tilth... and why working in soil that is too wet is a bad idea. (Any guesses?)
Check out our Instagram post for a close-up of the beautiful soil crumb!
