This past weekend a few members of Infurno made the trip to Dover, NH for the flyball MAINEiacs spring fling tournament. We had a fantastic weekend! It was fun getting to sit at the crates and watch racing, and we enjoyed the vendors and raffles offered. The pups enjoyed the awards on Saturday (a whole box filled with bocces treats!) for placing first in our division, after winning all of our races!
Badger ran clean all weekend, and had some nice passes with an unfamiliar dog (consistently under 6ft, many 2-3ft), so I couldn't be happier with him 💕
And huge thank you to Rick and Erin for letting us borrow ol' reliable, Nox, at the last minute! He was a powerhouse as usual and ran start. Even with a different handler than normal he still clocked 3.9-4.0 secs all weekend and got literal "oohs and aahs" from spectators 💪
Plus the new puppy, Shiner, did amazing. The tournament was a great opportunity for socialization and exposing him to strange sights/sounds, and he couldn't care less. He slept in his crate while the team raced and loved meeting new people and playing. 😊
And a special shoutout to Lorraine Messier and Patriot flyball for landing us a couple of awesome dogs to round out our team! Nancy Blake and Lester Seal with their border collies Thor and Phantom, were great teammates! We had never met/ran together before this weekend, and the dogs ran as a team with no issues! We were consistent, clean and won most of our races, even taking first for the day in our division Saturday 🎉 we ran in the 18s all weekend, with a best time of 17.7 secs, not too shabby for a group of dogs that didnt know eachother 😁
It was a great weekend and we're looking forward to Greenfield in a few weeks!
