On Wednesday evening, the Beacon VFW and Beacon Girl Scout troops hosted DCART and the Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County for another Pet First Aid class taught by Dr. Paul McNamara! We had 143 people in attendance learning about things like heat stroke, injuries, intestinal problems and what to put in your first aid kit! Over 70 individuals stopped by the DCART table and learned and practiced pet CPR! Thank you Dr. McNamara, VFW of Beacon and the Beacon Girl Scouts!

A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for Dutchess County from 7 pm Sunday through 7 pm Monday.

West winds of 20-30 mph with strong gusts of up to 55 mph are likely across the County.

Strong winds along with the weight of snow and ice on trees will increase the risk of downed tree limbs and power lines, causing widespread power outages.

Residents are reminded to plan for the possibility of power outages, charge mobile devices, and secure any outdoor items to prevent damage or injury.

REMEMBER: NEVER touch downed power lines.
