Painted Valley Farms first annual ornamate decorating contest. All of them were so so good. Hard to pick just 4 winners.

In the creative category the winner is Owen and Elizabeth.

In the Horse Butt's Drive Me Nuts category is Bliss and Julia. Bliss's real tail hair was a nice added touch.

In the likeness category JJ and Shan took first place. Coming a close second is Kingsley and Suzanne. The mash nose and protruding tongue were spot on for one of our favorite boys.

Many thanks to all. You out did yourselves.

A shout out to Julia for making one of my foals. It was awesome and I absolutely love it.

When baby boy was born this morning a very odd something popped out with him. The tissue on this thing was placental in nature and had an umbilical cord to it with it connecting off of main umbilical cord. Then as I looked baby over he had this weird pattern of hair over his back and there was a hairless patch on his side connected to this weird pattern/cowlick. At first my thought was a twin but we scanned at 14 days, 30 days and 60 days and there was nothing. Vet came and he opened it up and there wasn't anything there. So best thought is that these two things were connected. Maybe at one time this was connected to his umbilical but it detached and swung around him and rested where there was no hair development and it cause the funny pattern of hair on his back. Unlikely he will ever grow hair there. But it's an easy fix while he is young and small.

I have foaled out over a hundred foals and have never seen anything like this.

And with this we are done for the year! Handsome c**t born this morning. By One And Only Asset out of a All Time Fancy Daughter. He is long legged and oh so pretty. The filly streak is over. But not complaining. I just wanted him and mom to be healthy. See if you can find the bleeding heart on him?

There was some strange things about his birth. I will have pictures and possibly video of it later. Over a hundred foals I have foaled and never seen anything like this.

All mares I was going to breed for 2025 are cooking their foals. So we can hopefully rest easy the rest of the year. Mid Feb to mid march will be busy next year.

Foal Spam!!! Such cute kids. Sofie is the oldest at 2 months. Bailey is 2nd at 1 month and little (not so little) Ruby bringing up the rear at 1 week old. Ellie will have the 4th and final baby around a month from now. Her poor belly was going like crazy today.
