Fancy Feline Rescue of the South, a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue/adoption agency licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, is a small cat-only rescue organization with a big heart for the "Fancy Feline" breeds -- particularly Persian, Himalayan, Exotic, Ragdoll, Birman, Maine C**n, Siamese, and other CFA- and TICA-recognized breeds and mixes. We are a rescue affiliate of CFA BAP-BRP (Br
eeder Assistance Program-Breeder Rescue Program). We normally conduct our Meet-And-Greets at Kennesaw Petsmart, 860 Cobb Place Boulevard, Kennesaw, GA, on the second and third full weekends of each month, on Saturdays from 11:00a to 4:00p, and Sundays from 1:00p to 4:00p, but because of COVID-19, our meet-and-greets are temporarily suspended. We also have kitties at Pet Supermarket, 3405 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA, and 8765 Dallas Acworth Hwy, Dallas, GA, that are available to meet during their business hours. Instead of viewing this as a destructive behavior and getting mad at your cat, redirect the behavior to a more appropriate object such as a claw-appealing scratching post. Remember, every behavior serves a purpose, even the behaviors you don't like. Identify what the cat gets from the behavior so you can create a better solution.

Greetings! I’m WOLFIE (DOB: ~08/08/2021), a male Seal Lynx Point Bimetallic Siberian mix with gorgeous blue eyes who found myself wandering the streets. A Good Samaritan knew I shouldn’t be roaming and took me into her care. She then reached out to FFRS and they took me into their program to help me find a new home. When I was vetted, it was discovered that I am positive for FIV, but no one knows if I was infected by another FIV positive cat during a brawl or whether it is due to previously receiving the FIV vaccine. It was once believed that an FIV prognosis was grave and presented a serious threat to the feline population. Happily, this is no longer true and euthanasia is no longer routinely recommended for cats testing positive for FIV. I get along well with other cats – but will swat at them if they don’t respect my space. I am curious, love being petted and will follow you around seeking your attention. I would absolutely do wonderfully in a home as an only cat or with another FIV cat. If you accept me as a new member of your family, I promise I won’t disappoint! I am neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for FeLV, dewormed, have received flea preventative, and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $150.00.

My apologies for the delayed response, my schedule is quite packed today, just getting on my computer and reading your email. Thanks for sending the receipt but I'm a bit perplexed as the amount stated differs slightly from what we intended to donate. Upon consulting with my secretary and reviewing her records, we discovered that a donation of $3,780 was mistakenly processed instead of the originally requested $2,000. The excess funds in question were originally intended for an outgoing bill. Due to a combination of record processing being overloaded and carried over from last month, the funds were inadvertently included in the check you received. I was wondering why this discrepancy wasn't brought to my attention when you received the check.
I believe there might have been a miscommunication but I want to assure you that it's not a major issue. I've also discussed the matter with Leslie, and we've come to a decision to request a refund of the overpayment, which amounts to $1,780, as it exceeds our budgetary constraints. Leslie was a little upset about the error, but I assured her that I trust your organization and sincerely hope you won't perceive this error as an opportunity to withhold our funds, considering our genuine intention to support your organization through the donation.

I have just been sent Rickies Parrot and Exotic Rescue and Sanctuary of South Florida and your donation and discrepancy being the same.
We have heard nothing back!

We then started researching on the internet and came up with another rescue that had the same correspondence Rickie's Parrot Rescue ..https://www.facebook.com/rickiesparrotrescue --MRF contacted them.. The check was written on Central Maine Motor,Inc so we contacted them as well and we were told a scam and that Harrington had contacted 12 NON-PROFITS. We contacted the fraud dept of our bank and gave them all the info. The next morning we went to the Martin County Sheriff and gave them all the information Case number 24-037096
Heads up on this scam. This scammer tried to get us to send him $1760.00 back before the check cleared (bounced)

Gradually acclimate your kitten to being gently handled. In addition to petting, hold the kitten so he becomes comfortable with that sensation. Very gently touch the ears, paws, tail, and mouth. These sessions get your kitten used to having those sensitive areas touched. Frequent, gentle handling this way will be an advantage later as your kitten matures because of the type of touch done during veterinary exams as well as normal grooming procedures. It will also increase the chances of raising a cat who is at ease being held and carried.
Hi! I’m Maddox (DOB: 01/19/2018), a male purebred Shaded Silver Persian. I was surrendered to a local animal control with several of my siblings when my owner could no longer care for me. I lack full socialization, but I am a good boy and would love a calm home with someone who is patient with me. I am not shy or aggressive – I just don’t yet fully understand this whole affection thing. Sometimes I like it a lot. My main motivation is toys – ping pong balls, springs, and the string from an old hoodie (that will come with me to my new home) make me very happy. I forget my lack of socialization when someone plays with me. I can be petted, but I prefer it just be my head and shoulders. I will let you know when I’ve had enough petting by backing away. My foster mom tested me to see what I would do if she ignored my signals and I lightly swatted her with no claws. I love to sleep in my carrier because I feel safe there. Recently I started to come out of my carrier when my foster mom sits with me in my room and will sit beside her. I haven’t purred yet, but I do have a little grunt I make when I am relaxed. I don’t seem to mind other cats as long as they are nice to me and have not met the dogs in my foster home. I do like to play paws under the door to my room with one of my foster mom’s cats. We’ve met face to face briefly and I was good. My manners are wonderful and with patience, I may become a cat who likes to be nearby on the sofa with you or maybe even on the bed. I don’t think I will ever be a snuggly kind of guy, but I am a good boy and will be a good companion. I am neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, have received flea preventative, and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $300.00.

They were judged in 10 different rings and walked away with ribbons ranging from 1st place to 10th place in 9 out of the 10 rings. Mention was given by the judges on their sweet personalities and how well their adopter had done with their grooming! Hi everyone! I’m URSLA (DOB: ~03/18/2020) (pictures in comments), a show-stoppingly beautiful Cream Point Siamese mix. I and my seven (yes, you read that right – seven!) babies found our way into a local animal control facility. That facility reached out to FFRS to see if they could take us into their program, which they did, and we all immediately went into foster care (sadly, five of my babies were quite ill and didn’t survive). I am petite girl with a lot of moxie - I’m a sweet but peculiar young lady in that I am very nice one minute but also can be quickly annoyed (but who couldn’t be with seven babies to attend to?). Our foster mom also had a dog and two other household cats, and while I initially didn’t react well to them, I didn’t react horribly either – I learned to tolerate them. Once I went back to FFRS and was placed in their free-roam area, I learned to get along with the other cats quite well – and I absolutely love giving head-butts and receiving belly rubs to my caregivers! I will probably get along with another cat and/or a respectful dog in my new home if given the proper introduction. I am spayed, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, microchipped, have received flea preventative, and will be eligible to receive at least a 30-day free trial of pet health insurance at the time of my adoption. My adoption fee is $125.00.
