Fancy Feline Rescue of the South, a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue/adoption agency licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, is a small cat-only rescue organization with a big heart for the "Fancy Feline" breeds -- particularly Persian, Himalayan, Exotic, Ragdoll, Birman, Maine C**n, Siamese, and other CFA- and TICA-recognized breeds and mixes. We are a rescue affiliate of CFA BAP-BRP (Br

eeder Assistance Program-Breeder Rescue Program). We normally conduct our Meet-And-Greets at Kennesaw Petsmart, 860 Cobb Place Boulevard, Kennesaw, GA, on the second and third full weekends of each month, on Saturdays from 11:00a to 4:00p, and Sundays from 1:00p to 4:00p, but because of COVID-19, our meet-and-greets are temporarily suspended. We also have kitties at Pet Supermarket, 3405 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA, and 8765 Dallas Acworth Hwy, Dallas, GA, that are available to meet during their business hours. Please contact us to set up an appointment to meet any specific cat you may be interested in adopting.

SUNNY, our precious Flame Point Himalayan, is going to enjoy his new home when he and his new momma, Lisa, get back to Colorado this evening. Lisa, thank you for your long round-trip trek today and for wanting to give SUNNY a whole lot of love and a bit of a Rocky Mountain high! We know he'll return the love with lots of purrs and snuggles once he gets settled in his new home. Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescue kitty!

We are putting out the plea for financial assistance – something we don’t do on a regular basis. However, since the end of September, 2024, FFRS has taken in several Persians and Himalayans, one of which – APPLE ANNIE – was found to have a polyp in her inner ear. We took her to see a soft tissue surgeon specialist on October 23 and he informed us that more likely than not the polyp will require extensive surgery to remove depending on the results of the radiographs that will be taken. APPLE ANNIE is currently scheduled for surgery on November 26. The estimate that was given to us by Veterinary Referral Surgical Practice was between $1,415 and $4,415 depending on the severity of the polyp and the extent of the surgery to remove it. If you can donate $1, $5, $10, $25, or any amount, that would help us ensure that APPLE ANNIE will no longer suffer. You can make your donation through PayPal (paypal.me/FancyFelineRescue) or, if you’d prefer to call in a donation directly to Veterinary Referral Surgical Practice, you can do so by calling 770-424-6663 and telling them that you’d like to make a donation to Fancy Feline Rescue of the South for APPLE ANNIE’s upcoming surgery. 🤎💗🤎 AXEL AND ROSE, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW HOME!!! 🤎💗🤎

These two tweenagers, AXEL, male Seal Colour Point DSH (aka a Seal Point Siamese mix), and ROSE, female Snowshoe mix, have a wonderful journey ahead of them as they headed to Florida today with their new two-legged mom - and, of course, foster mom had to be there to give them her goodbye snuggles and smooches! Thank you, Jennifer, for making a l-o-o-o-ong day trip to accept these two youngsters into your heart and your home. We are excited about their new journey with you - and can't wait to get updates and pictures. We're hoping they will share lots of snuggles, purrs, and sandpaper kisses with you. Thank you for adopting a rescue kitty!!

PATSY (formerly known as Pansy), our sweet, loveable tweenster, hit the jackpot today when she found her new home with Cassidy. Cassidy has a singleton who is in need of a companion and, of course, PATSY fit the bill! PATSY will now keep her four-letter sister from another mother engaged and, hopefully, they can keep each other entertained and out of kitty shenanigans. DRACO, our handsome Colorpoint Shorthair (or Flame Point Siamese) tweenager got the attention of Julie who was in search of a new family member to help keep her one year old kitty engaged, and apparently DRACO fit the bill!! Thank you, Julie, for wanting to find a friend and playmate for your current kitty. We know that DRACO, once he's settled in his new environment, will provide you with lots of snuggles, purrs, and, hopefully, lots of sandpaper kisses! Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescue kitty!

❤️💓❤️ HAPPY GOTCHA' DAY, CHURRO!! ❤️💓❤️

CHURRO, our handsome colorpoint youngster, found his new family today! Amy and Eric were looking for another companion to complete their family and CHURRO apparently fit the bill for everyone. CHURRO will be able to entertain a canine sibling in his new home as well as keep the other felines in line. We can't thank you enough, Amy and Eric, for allowing CHURRO to join your family! Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescue kitty - and we know he'll keep you and all of his new 4-legged siblings from other mothers entertained!

FFRS is excited to announce that we received a 2024 Fall Grant from Second Life Atlanta (https://secondlifeatlanta.org/)! Huge shout out to this organization for entrusting us to spend their grant funds wisely. These grant funds will be used to help our Fancy Felines receive the proper veterinary care to address vetting needs, medical issues, as well as allow us to provide enrichments and necessities for our current and future resident felines!

[MORE VIDEOS IN COMMENTS] Had the special opportunity this weekend (as a birthday gift to myself!) to see two of our rescue kitties, Jolene and Ozzy (both adopted from FFRS recently by Kendra), do very, very well in Household Pets Division at the Rebel Rouser Cat Show in Lawrenceville. They were judged in 10 different rings and walked away with ribbons ranging from 1st place to 10th place in 9 out of the 10 rings. Mention was given by the judges on their sweet personalities and how well their adopter had done with their grooming! Way to go JOLENE and OZZY - and I know we'll be seeing you do well in upcoming shows! Congratulations to both of you and Kendra!!

Hi everyone! I’m URSLA (DOB: ~03/18/2020) (pictures in comments), a show-stoppingly beautiful Cream Point Siamese mix. I and my seven (yes, you read that right – seven!) babies found our way into a local animal control facility. That facility reached out to FFRS to see if they could take us into their program, which they did, and we all immediately went into foster care (sadly, five of my babies were quite ill and didn’t survive). I am petite girl with a lot of moxie - I’m a sweet but peculiar young lady in that I am very nice one minute but also can be quickly annoyed (but who couldn’t be with seven babies to attend to?). Our foster mom also had a dog and two other household cats, and while I initially didn’t react well to them, I didn’t react horribly either – I learned to tolerate them. Once I went back to FFRS and was placed in their free-roam area, I learned to get along with the other cats quite well – and I absolutely love giving head-butts and receiving belly rubs to my caregivers! I will probably get along with another cat and/or a respectful dog in my new home if given the proper introduction. I am spayed, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, microchipped, have received flea preventative, and will be eligible to receive at least a 30-day free trial of pet health insurance at the time of my adoption. My adoption fee is $125.00.
