We are THRILLED to share the successful completion and 4th place finish of the 50 mile 2025 Appaloosa National Championship Endurance Ride (ANCER) by Z Spotsaflying aka Scooter ridden by Darlene Merlich and owned by Karen Bumgarner!
This young gelding has had a wonderful campaign year in distance riding.
Desert Spirit Appaloosas is honored and proud to have this BCAP Tobys Fossil son out representing the talented Appaloosa in distance riding! 😍

It is a GREAT HONOR to have the Mighty Sprite featured in the summer ApHC Journal! Julie Figg has done a phenomenal job achieving Sprite's Championships. Some fun facts about this amazing horse... he visited our son's school class to educate about Appaloosas as a suckling. He was shown as a weanling and yearling at our OTAHC breed show and Won Reserve FPD Champion his yearling year! He won classes in hand at our obstacle course competition He also was an ambassador for our club at the Bend Christmas parade as a long yearling. His heart belongs to the endurance trail, I always knew this but knew it would be a special person to take him to the TOP! Julie has been the perfect match. 🥰 All this talent and achievements from a horse whose parents had no show records or big achievements themselves... just good brains and conformation! 😉

I'm late with this announcement but Rivendells Tonitrus x Platinum Jewelry produced this gorgeous buckskin Filly on May 13, 2025 for the Clark family in Oregon.
"Gemma" is a stunner with perfect conformation and athleticism.
Fingers crossed 🤞 we were successful for a 2026 repeat! 😉
