This will be my third winter of horsemanship lessons! The first year we had weekly lessons right on through and last year we only met once or twice a month.

The difference was clear!!! Consistent unmounted lessons had my students moving leaps and bounds above the year that we didn’t, when spring hit.

I’m excited for an updated format, with various levels.

These sessions will be evenings, Monday- Thursday.
Days and times will be set soon.

I’m so excited for his future! Virgil started with me this summer and today we roped live cattle and then wrapped up the day with a bit more sled roping. He has done a phenomenal job of overcoming fears, stress and all the new challenges.

Roping roping and more roping.
These two have been putting in tremendous effort and focus this weekend.
It’s been so fun to work with not only my daughter but also this young man that comes over the mountain about once a month.
He went from an unconfident rider with a beginner swing, to roping a calf out of the box yesterday, all in about 5 months.
This is what practice and dedication can do!

We are a week away from the second introductory breakaway roping clinic.
At the last one we had a handful of people get back into the roping groove.
🤠 Please know that this is introductory level, yet I can work with All levels of roper.

The agenda for the day:
10-noon: establish ground work
12-1: lunch break (can order pizza if you want to pitch in, or bring a lunch)
1-4: horseback - we begin with tracking the sled and then adjust from there.

If you choose to further your roping I also offer weekly lessons to start with what you know and then build your success.

I have some ropes available for purchase as well.

This boy has been working so hard at his roping. He has taken each step in stride, the ups and downs and frustration, but today was all smiles!
We put together the ground work and riding and he roped the dummy from horseback.
Tomorrow the plan is to rope the sled. 🤠

Last weekend I had the most lovely family here from the UK. They were learners, adventurers and a pleasure to work with. Today I had my Powell girls here and it was so wonderful to see their independence that has developed!
I have the best time teaching outside of the classroom! 🤠🥰

🤠 I want to let everyone know that I need to change the Sept 14th date to SUNDAY, Sept 15.
The high school football schedule that I received last night has an added game on the 14th and I don’t want to miss my son’s games when they are close enough to go to.

The first clinic was awesome! We had a smaller group but it made for lots and lots of practice! Hopefully the second one doesn’t overlap as many events.
So much fun and lots of growth in just one day!

Jezell’s little mare is the absolute best. I tried her out the one night on live cattle and she did great, but we will brush off the rust and get real practice in now…….unless Jezell takes her away from me 🤣

I haven’t had a lot of interest in the goat tying so we will only do basic work on a dummy.

Roping takes practice, guidance, struggle, and perseverance.
We’ve been working on ground work for a little while now and it was time to do some tracking on the sled.
It’s exciting to see the progress being made.
