Hi Everyone!

My name is Flurry! I am a female 40ish pound potential chow/lab mix! I have short legs and am so fluffy! I am about one year old and still have a lot of playful and goofy puppy in me! I love to play with toys, chew on bones, and get belly rubs! I also like to work on tricks and I’m pretty smart. I know sit, spin, and touch so far! I go potty outside and do well in my crate when my foster parents are gone.

I like to play with other dogs that can match my energy! I am interested in cats and would probably do ok with them. Since I am so playful, I might do best with older kids! I am a huge pup cup fan and would love to be your coffee buddy! Car rides are no problem for me! I walk well on a leash and I’m working on not getting too excited when I see other dogs outside. I promise I can make you smile, apply to meet me today!

Hi my name is Hubert! A 60 pound Labradoodle and maybe Irish Wolfhound mix. I’m a 4 year old, love bug!
I’m looking a for a family/person to call my own. I’m low/medium energy. A pretty chill fella.
Hubert is house trained and an appropriate chewer. My foster mom says I’m fine to be left out. No need to crate.
I’m NOT a hypoallergenic doggo. I will need to be occasionally groomed, but my foster mom thinks maybe 2-3 times per year, plus brushing.
A fenced in yard will be best for me. No small children since I like to stand up to say hi.

Hi! I’m Taffy, a 2 year old redbone coonhound mix. I weigh 26lbs but I am working on adding 5-10lbs to my physique.

I came in as a stray, but my foster parents say I have good manners and am potty trained. I am working on basic commands like sit and come, but am generally a good listener and want to be with people and other dogs.

I love going for walks and am a good running buddy! I get so excited to go outside that I do the cutest little wiggle hops. Toys and playing with other dogs are fun too, but I also know how to snuggle like a pro.

I stay in the crate when foster family is gone but they think I might be ok left out alone. I would love to snuggle up at your feet in bed, I much prefer this over the crate at night. Sometimes I bark in my crate because I want to be with the people, but usually will calm down after a few minutes and nap.

Feyre is a 12 week 16lb amazing puppy. She gets along with dogs old and young big and small. She even gets along with cats. She loves cuddling so much that if you pick her up to put her in your lap she immediately melts right into it for a nap. She is sweet and attentive, loves to follow her foster mom around, and loves to play with toys and her foster siblings alike. She is working on crate and potty training, and making great progress. But what she lacks for in skills she makes up for in cuteness! Our best guess on her breed is a border collie/lab/hound mix? She will probably end up being a medium - large breed dog, but the best way to find out is giving her a furever home!!

Hi, I’m Rhysand! You can call my Rhys for short (pronounced like “Rees”). I’m a cute 3-month-old puppy and I weigh 19 lbs. I should be a larger adult. I might be a border collie/lab/hound mix. Some of my siblings looked like border collies while others looked like yellow labs. I am a happy and energetic guy and I’m good with dogs, cats, and kids. I am working on potty and crate training. I walk well on leash and already know a few tricks! Hope Santa finds me a home for the holidays!

Hi, I’m Peaches 🍑 (the 2nd). I’m a 4 year old, female, dachshund, pug, chihuahua mix. I’m currently weighing in at a hefty 26lbs, but the vet says I need to lose a few, and the foster parents are helping me with that. I am good with other dogs, and tolerate all the foster dogs I’m living with (the puppy can be a bit much sometimes!), not sure about cats, but I like people the best so I’d probably leave them alone. I’m good with kids, housebroken, and crate trained. I can be a little nervous until I am used to a new house and new dogs/people. If I'm given a little time and space to get used to things I will become a little shadow to my humans. I absolutely love going for walks, and my little tail will wag the entire way, but if you’re feeling like more of a sit on the couch type of day, I’ll be right there with you! I’m a great snuggler, and would love to meet you.

Hi! I’m Zinnia. I’m a 38 pound, 1 to 2 year old maybe beagle mix. I was left at a shelter in KY this spring and eventually found my way up to my foster family in Columbus. I really like it here. My foster mom says I’m the happiest, wiggliest, funniest pup she’s ever had. I love all people, especially kids. I play well with other dogs, and get along great with cats too. Belly rubs are the absolute best aren’t they? I will chew on bones, but I love stuffed animals that squeak the most. I've chewed a flip flop and a phone cable, but I didn't know they weren't toys for me. I guess I need to learn which toys are for me and which aren't. I’m easy to walk, as long as you’re not in a hurry as I take my time sniffing things. I know a few commands and I’m house trained and crate trained. But my favorite place to be is right next to you. I will follow you around from room to room, and sleep wherever you are. Dog beds, couches, human beds - I love them all. Oh yeah - I have crazy escape skills. But I don't run away. I run right to you- so proud of my skills. I can back my way out of a harness in 10 seconds flat, but my collar stays on fine. And metal crates are no match for me. The plastic crates work better. I have a mild neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. This makes my balance a little off and I have trouble judging distances which makes me hilariously clumsy sometimes. It kinda looks like I’m a young puppy even though I’m fully grown. There are no medicines to worry about and it will cause no future concerns to my health. This has no affect on my intelligence at all, as I'm quite smart. And it doesn't stop me from doing anything at all. I’m slow at whole flights of stairs and at risk of falling down them. A home with minimal stairs would be ideal, but a baby gate will keep me perfectly safe. I hope to find a super loving home where I get lots of attention and care and I'm treated like the goofy princess I think I am. I hope to meet yo

PAWS (Powell Animal Welfare Society) is an all-volunteer, all foster-based dog rescue serving the Columbus, Ohio area. Our volunteers rescue, provide veterinary care and find loving homes for abused, neglected and/or stray dogs from high-kill shelters in Ohio and neighboring states.

PAWS strives to eliminate the needless killing of homeless animals, one dog, one adopter at a time. We are in need of more loving foster homes for homeless dogs that are rescued from death row. PAWS can only save a dog if we have a foster home to care for it since we have NO kennel. Each foster home provides shelter and care, while PAWS provides food, veterinary care (including spay/neuter) and all necessary supplies such as crates, bowls, leashes, collars, etc.
