It seems way too early but we here at Barkley Couture have been busy filling orders and working on holiday designs. Maddie spent “National Yorkie Day” posing wearing some new Halloween designs. Being the little trooper she is, she gave me all she had. Such a little professional. These two designs are in our Etsy store and have more to come!!!!

Maddie and I have been busy the last few weeks getting some new designs ready. Been a long long long year for us with my knee replacement surgery and losing Molly, Macey Mae, and my ❤️ Barkley. Here are a few I have finished and will be posting them on Etsy in the next few days (that is a chore). Working on some Halloween and then got lots of new Christmas dresses cut out and ready to make. Barkley Couture was honored to dress Bailey King for her walk down the runway at the G Girl’s Cotillion recently in Florida. Lots and lots of work and heirloom sewing techniques went into this replica of an heirloom christening dress. All the fabrics and laces were Swiss heirloom quality. Maddie is modeling and there is a video of the full dress in comments. This dress was 46 inches long and the embroidery designs took over 6 hours to complete. The entire ruffle around the outside was gathered and stitched on by hand.

Thought I should post a surgery update. Nurse Maddie and I are doing great. Almost 2 weeks out from knee replacement and I feel like I am way ahead of schedule. Ditched the walker and cane a few days ago and they tell me at therapy I am doing phenomenal. Planning on getting back in my sewing studio for a few hours a day next week. I need some normalcy in my life. Has been a hard few months losing both the girls and especially Barkley. Ready to make some new dresses.

Barkley Couture has lost it’s namesake. Barkley went to join his sister’s Molly and Macey Mae at Rainbow Bridge on Friday. Barkley was 15 1/2 years old and he will be missed greatly. Such a sweet little soul he was always by my side and spent most of his time laying in his bed on my sewing counter. Fly high little man!!!!

Maddie and Barkley thought it was time I posted an update, many of you have been asking about my surgery. It has taken a little longer to ”jump through all the doctor/insurance hoops” than I had anticipated. My right knee surgery is scheduled for April 3rd. I have been busy working on some gorgeous dresses for the G Girl Cotillion in May so I have been busy. Cannot share any details yet. It has been nice with all that has been going on to have some time to myself. Losing both Molly and Macey Mae in the last 4 months has been difficult. But we are looking forward to getting this done and getting back to making some pretty new dresses. Please keep me in your thoughts.

Love, love doing custom orders but love even more seeing them on the intended. Custom “Alice” dress for a gorgeous little Frenchie in Canada. She and her sister have a party to attend. The reviews are always good to see also. Check out that tucked bodice.

Some pretty new dresses going out tomorrow. Been working hard on these custom orders. Lots of heirloom laces and fabrics used. Check out the tiny seed beads hand stitched on the collar of two of them. Matching hairbows available. Of course Maddie is always ready for the camera. These are also available to order. Very proud of our entries/contestants in the latest 2022 G Girls Cotillion in Florida a couple weeks ago. Thank you Barb King for allowing me to dress Bailey and Verdie for this special event. The pink/lavender ombré dress and white tulle dress each had over 12 yards of tulle in their skirts. Each ruffle was gathered separately and added to the satin skirt with a thin row of beaded rhinestones. The satin slip has kind of become a tradition for us and every little Princess needs a crown so the crowns were embroidered on the satin slips and embellished with Swarovski crystal. The pink and red ruffled dress was going to be worn at the earlier Queen of Hearts events but due to weather the girl’s could not make it. So we turned it into a dress to compete in the International Event held on Friday night as Miss Monaco/Monte Carlo. The red satin cape was added with a sublimated Queen of Yorkies design on the front. It was all lined in pink satin to match the dress. The best part of this affair is that all money raised goes to canine rescue.

Pink gingham, smocked, and tiny little bows. Even though these little dresses take me much longer to make (I just finished three) I love doing them. They are just so sweet. Some little girl is going to look so sweet in pink. PM me for details.
