I had a call for assistance today for a 💯 percent feral cat that had just become paralyzed in both rear legs, and went down a sewer drain in a subdivision. Young Williams of course was absolutely 💯 percent NO HELP WHATSOEVER! My mind knew they wouldn't assist at all, even if the cover was off, but I wanted to hear it from their Animal Services Department and really ask, what is it that you all actually do? Not much if you ask me as usual. Anyway, here's who actually did assist me, Cecil, and his caring person today. Knox County Non Emergency who checked around and had me contact 311.Then the very compassionate and helpful 311 operator, who took all the information and made contact with Knox County Engineering & Public Works for me. And let me tell you, these guys rock! As I got to the address, they were already in the sewer and were bringing out poor Cecil. This all happened within 10 -15 minutes of my 311 call. They were the most kind and caring crew! So compassionate towards Cecil and his caretaker. Their names are as follows. Jaime Jones, District Supervisor, and his crew of Tony Poups, and Russell Mays, who was the gentleman that went in the sewer to retrieve Cecil. Then finally I made my way with Cecil and his caretaker to Butler Animal Clinic to put Cecil to rest. Thank you to Jerry and Whitney for your compassion and assistance. It most certainly took a village today, a village our Animal Services Dept. at Young William's was not a part of. Remember this. They could have offered to come once the sewer drain was off, but of course, they didn't.

A little about Cecil and his caretaker of 11 years. Cecil spent most of his time in a heated garage with a kitty door, with everything a kitty could ever want. He was very much loved, and was 💯 percent feral.

Waffle will require someone home more often than not, as well a kitty buddy.
Waffle 🧇 is stopping by to spill the beans. He's getting his 2nd fvrcp shot this week, and then he will be getting neutered, most likely next week sometime. But after that, he'll be ready to find his forever home, where he can chase balls, snuggle up, and purr to his heart's content. This little furball is a total charmer who loves to climb perches, climb on you for some loving, and play with tunnels and pole toys. He will be looking for a BFF kitty to hang out with like our Big Poppa or another kitten - could it be yours? Waffle has already been tested negative for felv/fiv/hw, dewormed multiple times, parasite free, flea prevention given. Message if interested.

We started out volunteering with other local rescue groups for several years, and decided to start our own small “Mom & Pop” rescue saving homeless kittens and some cats. Cuddles was our first rescue on our own. She was 14 hours old. Cuddles and Purrs will try to help abandoned/homeless kittens and occasionally some cats in the Knoxville area find loving forever homes based on foster home availability. We will not be able to take on many kittens/cats as we are a very small and home based rescue. Each kitten/cat will be accessed by a licensed vet, and will have their medical needs addressed. They are fed quality kitten/cat food. Once completely tested, spayed/neutered, given age appropriate shots, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, and most importantly healthy, the kittens will be looking for forever homes. There will be an application process for anyone interested in adopting. Applications submitted based on verification of information and the best fit for each kitty, not by who filled out an application first.
