Meet Dottie and help us save other dogs like her on Giving Tuesday! This adorable pit bull is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home to recover in while she is treated for heartworm disease. Dottie is 2 years old and was found as a stray. She takes treats well and seeks appropriate attention from humans. She knows sit. She should meet any resident dogs before going home as a foster or foster-to-adopt. If you’d like to meet Dottie, please reach out to the email address in the comments. And, if you'd like to help Friends of the Shelter save more dogs like Dottie, please see the donation link in the comments. Thank you for your ongoing support. [email protected].

Update on Axel. Axel arrived at the Franklin County Dog Shelter about two months ago as a very scared three-year-old pup. He was brought in by our amazing dog wardens, and the shelter team worked diligently with him to earn his trust. He is doing much better and really loves people now!

We’re thrilled he recently found a foster-to-adopt family in time for his heartworm treatment to begin. Axel’s heartworm treatment is being funded by Friends of the Shelter. He had his first heartworm treatment at the end of August and will have his last two treatments at the end of September. After that, he can be adopted by his foster!

Thanks for supporting Friends of the Shelter through our events like 5K for K9s 2023. Register today to join us on Saturday, Sept 30 at Alum Creek State Park Beach area. Registration link in the comments. Help us save more dogs like Axel!

Take a moment out of your busy day to absorb all the cuteness that 1-year-old Gwen has to offer us. This little fluffball is ready to make her big debut as an influencer, but until then, she would really love a quiet place to call home!

Initially a bit reserved with new people, once Gwen feels safe and secure, she is all in for lap sits - but only on her terms. 👑

Still adjusting and working on confidence building, we believe that Gwen will do best starting out in an adult only home and a home with other playful dogs would be an added bonus!

Gwen LOVES to play with other dogs, dancing on her hind legs and hanging out with her people.

Gwen does NOT like fast movements, big crowds or being picked up.

Ready to help this little one grow into the confident girl we all know she can be? Stop in to our Columbus, Ohio Adoption Center anytime during adoption hours to meet her.
