Please welcome Queenie! Geriatric. Docile. Extreme arthritis in her rear legs especially. Found abandoned at an apartment complex. I've started her on pain relief, supplements and adequan injections are in her very near future.

Introducing Lucy. Owner surrender. She was living exclusively on a screened in front porch. I picked her up on Friday. She is still decompressing here, but has adjusted well so far. To go from a solitary life to living with 19 other dogs can definitely be overwhelming at first.

Seizures are under control. Our vet gave me 3 choices - euthanasia, take her to a 24 hour hospital downtown to monitor the seizures, or take her home with medicine in hand. I chose to take her home. She said the next 24 - 48 hours will tell the future. Either she will snap out of it, or be a vegetable. She expected her to sleep the rest of the day after the Va**um she was given and didn't seem hopeful. Here is Norma less than 8 hours later.

Please pray for our Norma. She started having full seizures this morning. She's never had one before. Currently at Village Vet. God, I hope we don't lose her. 🙏

I used to pull up in my car coming in from work to check my mail. That lazy way was so much easier because my driveway is soooo long and I didn't want to walk it. Today, I decided Norma Jean just needed fresh air because she looked a bit depressed. I'm definitely going to do this more often. I don't know who enjoyed it more - Norma or me. She immediately perked up taking in different sights and smells. That individual time means so much to our pups and I admit that having 18 dogs makes that a challenge for me, and I often feel guilty about it.

Sometimes we can go weeks without a vet bill, but this month we were hammered. Losing Cupid, recheck for Norma, surgery for Chevy, and Martin is in surgery right now getting a growth removed from his cheek. I was worried that I would have to dip into my tiny retirement yet again, but so many wonderful people came through for us. I am touched.

Denise, your timing was perfect! You wrote on your donation note to "spoil those senior babies". I promise I will. They now have food and treats for the entire month!

The socks were sent to Norma to help her with traction. Thanks, Wendy! They do the job. She only knows two speeds. When she takes off, she takes off. NOW she wants to run me over whenever I call her name. 🤣
