Moving with 17 dogs is a challenge, but we finally did it. We are now in Cumberland, enjoying the peaceful country life. Today was our first day living here and the dogs have been on their best behavior. We've been relaxing most of the day, just worn out from the work. A huge thank you to Alex Glaser & The Glaser Group at Long & Foster Realtors for helping us find the perfect place!

There's always one that won't get out of bed in the morning. Fifteen other dogs awake, running around barking and have already been outside three times. I touched his foot and he did move an inch. I'm crazy like that. Especially if they haven't moved when there's a racket going on around them, I fear the worst. Kinda like placing our finger under the nose of our newborn child to make sure they're breathing. Anyone care to guess who this lazy turd is?

Earlier this month was Odysseus's (Lauphie) one year Gotcha Day! Enjoy this update and adorable pics from Ody's new parents.
"Ody is adjusting super well to our new home in Chicago and is thriving as a Midwest dog. He has come a long way in his reactivity training and his trainers have high hopes for him. He can now go on adventures in the backpack and his current favourite place to go is Home Depot. Our new house has a balcony where he loves to lay and people watch. We spent his gotcha day doing his favourite things, which included his favourite meal- brisket! We can tell he loves being half Jewish now and all the yummy food that comes with it. When he is not out adventuring, his favourite thing to do is snuggle, eat chewies, and lay in the sun."

Loyal to family and aloof with strangers. Full of character with every ear lift grunt or snort having a specific meaning that only their human understands.

A dear friend of mine rescued these dogs from a questionable post on Craigslist. Both male. 3 or 4 years old. Friendly. I think the black one especially is just too adorable! He's different. I've always loved different. Reach out if interested.

Several people asked for pictures of the kitties. Here they are, and this is only a fractionof how many there are. They are currently living in Amelia. PLEASE consider adopting one. They will need immediate vet care. I don't have the funds (or knowledge) to cover. I'm already digging into my own pocket to cover our senior pups. Reach out if interested.

Memaw is singing her blues and wants everyone to know she had a bad day. She hates all the rain we've been having here in Virginia, and on top of that her little ear has been itching all day.

Happy 1 month adoption for Rosie. Here's a quick note from her adopters " Rosie is doing amazing and is really starting to settle in nicely. Our other pups are also starting to open up and let her into the pack."

And here's another precious girl. Thought to be 7 or 8. She's barely touched her food since arriving on Wednesday. Table food history no doubt. This is a first at Miko's Sanctuary. Usually they all love Fresh Pet.
