I graduated from Deering High School in Portland, Maine in 1977 and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simmons College, Boston in 1981. While applying to Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, I worked as a laboratory technician at The Childrenโs Hospital in Boston, a veterinary technician at The Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital in Newton, Mass, and as an assistant herdsman at a dairy
farm in Hardwick, Mass. Returning to Maine, I have been practicing veterinary medicine at several hospitals in the greater Portland area including; The Veterinary Centre of Cape Elizabeth, Brackett Street Veterinary Clinic in Portland and most recently at the Freeport Veterinary Hospital. In 1997, I became certified in acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. I have been offering acupuncture to my patients to treat a variety of ailments, including arthritis and pain management. In the summer of 2008, I left Freeport to start my own practice in my hometown of Pownal. My husband is named Tom, and we have two beautiful young boys, Parker and Mason. We share our home with our dog; Gordon, as well as two stray cats named Jack Hamster and Henry Gravel.
