Happy 1st day of spring everyone! For the first time in 17 years, I am not preparing for another season of pony parties. Midnight and I have decided to hang up the reins for good. I could not imagine a better partner then he has been, and we have had so much fun providing magical memories for so many kids (and adults too!) From birthday parties to weddings, Kentucky Derby parties, family reunions, Make a Wish, and many other events, Midnight has given well over 5000 pony rides these past 17 years. All this time he has always been happy to see me when I bring his halter out to the pasture to get him and has always eagerly jumped in the trailer. I have no doubt he knew he was special and thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention wherever he was. I am quite certain he is the most photographed equine in Wisconsin, to the point that he would stop and look when he saw someone taking his picture! So instead of waiting until he got tired of doing this (he is 26 after all!), I decided he has earned his keep many times over and will live the rest of his life being loved by family. When I started this business, I was a busy mom with 16, 12 and 8 year old daughters. It was fun to include them on our party days and they were a big help. Now they are all off and married and giving me grandchildren, baby Elsie last August and baby Lucas just 7 weeks ago. I love that all 3 daughters learned to ride on Midnight and that their kids will too! I must thank Carol Anderson for selling me Midnight way back in 1997, Lynne McSurely Jessick for giving me the idea of doing pony parties when she saw someone in her town of Omaha doing it, to David Kolb for all his veterinary care (even though Midnight is not overly fond of him!!) and most of all I want to thank the hundreds of families who welcomed us to your special events and loved Midnight through the years! This was more fun than I ever could have imagined! Happy trails everyone!
