Tomorrow 10/29 is National Cat Day

National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29. It was created by Colleen Paige to bring awareness to the number of cats that need to be rescued each year.

Visit your local shelter or rescue organization to adopt.

Under the premise of our fb group Louisiana Snakes, I had the pleasure of going out to make a presentation for Kindergarteners at Wild Roots Forest School. Steven Kennedy was gracious to meet me for a collaboration of Louisiana Snakes and his Snaketuary. They kids and their amazing teacher, Brandy all got to see some of our native snakes such as Cornsnake, Ratsnake, Plain-Bellied water snake, Speckled King Snake and a Buttermilk racer. Some of the children even held a few. We went exploring and found several snakes in and around a creek. Ribbonsnakes, Broad-Banded water snakes, and a Plain-Bellied water snake. I was just as excited to see and hold Steve’s buttermilk racer lol!
They all received snake coloring sheets, a few snake info handouts, along with a brand new Peterson’s Field Guide book of Reptiles and Amphibians, I donated to them in order to help their learning journey. Thank you again for coming, Steven! Great work being done at Wild Roots Forest School in Lafayette, Brandy!!

A vampire bat arrives back at the roost with his face, mouth and teeth covered in blood. All the other bats get excited and ask where he got it all from. Follow me he says & off they flew over the hills, over the river and into the dark forest. See that tree over there .. yes yes they reply - Well I didn't.

Who wants a puppy?
I have been dog sitting.
My friend that owns the momma dog is giving away the DOB 08/06. Been dewormed three timeses. Momma is black lab and trained for duck retrieving. She had oops with a German shepherd. So obviously the puppies are lab/german shepherd mixes. Again, ONE is available but POSSIBLY TWO. We will be picky because although there isn’t a fee, we don’t want them going into unsafe conditions.
Of course the names as seen on pics, can be changed. They don’t know their names. They are all adorable sweethearts. I love them all! Message me if seriously interested in reserving a puppy for when they are ready to go to homes. Prairieville-Galvez area.
