🐾🎄 Our clinic is so excited to be sponsoring a Christmas tree at the Autauga Creek Christmas Tree Trail! This year our staff teamed up to make special paw print ornaments using many of our very own daycare pets! We tried to get as many as we could, and we think they turned out so adorable—we hope you guys visit the Christmas Tree Trail this year to check it out in person. Feel free to take pics and tag our clinic! 🎄🐾

Tribute to Jordan 🤍

This has been a difficult week for CFPHC. We lost a very beloved member of our clinic family, and we wanted to make a memorial post in honor of the special woman that our fellow staff and clients knew.

Jordan was so very bright. She worked at CFPHC as a Receptionist and a Veterinary Technician. She went to school at Troy, and it was her dream to become a Veterinarian herself. She had special interests in both small animal and large animal health. She was determined to do it all, and if circumstances would have allowed, we have no doubt she would have achieved these successes and so many more.

Jordan loved animals and she loved people. She valued humor and had a unique way of making others laugh. Her smile was contagious.

Jordan was also fierce. At times, she could be stubborn, honest, and strong willed. This made her decisive and it made her brave.

Jordan was the first to arrive to the front desk every morning, and liked to sit at 102. As a Vet Tech, Jordan floated with one or two other Techs and helped out wherever she could in Treatment. She kept her team members entertained constantly, and she kept her managers on their toes. She loved Chic Fil A, Coca Cola, short games like Hangman or Monkey-in-the-Middle, diabetic pets, playful bantering, giving “the latest life updates”, and she loved her best four-legged buddy, Wilson.

What we wish we could say to Jordan now, is how much WE, CFPHC, loved her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family right now, who are experiencing the worst imaginable loss.

Thank you to those who encountered Jordan in her time with us and who will remember Jordan for the amazing person she was. We hope this post will allow our staff and clients to look back on her in the future when we want to reflect on the priceless impact she made.

“Jordan, Jordi, Jordana . . . Keep a few seats warm for your front desk ladies upstairs until we get there. And in the meantime, we’ll hold down your spot at 102 for as long as we can.”

Sincerely,
The Staff at CFPHC

We ask that you please keep our practice in your prayers. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we are not releasing any additional details at this time. We appreciate your patience for the next several days while we navigate through this. Thank you so much.

At your local garden store, you may be looking for fall flowers to put in your planters to have a variety of different flowers. Lantana may be one of those. Lantana mainly causes vomiting and diarrhea in dogs and cats but sometimes weakness or lethargy can be seen. The ripe berries are less toxic than unripe berries. The berries contain anticholinergic compounds which can cause dilated pupils, cardiovascular signs, and central nervous system signs. These berries can cause more serious signs in livestock.
